And the misspelling “caillerch*” has persisted right into the CD age (and on all samplers).

 Colin O'Cochlainn ROFL

Colm Ó Lochlainn

The name of the composer is actually Trad.!
Colm (not Colin!) O'Lochlainn published a book of songs and had it printed by The Three Candles press (his own publisher) in Dublin in 1939. "Dublin Street Ballads" and he even published another volume of the same in 1965. He never claimed to have written the ballads but he "Collected" them or at least gathered them all together and put them in the book(s).

It doesn't deserve a composer credit at all. But since you are attempting to credit him, at least get halfway near actually writing his name correctly! Tsk, tsk. ;-)
