| | The point is, Neil Forbes, that on a US album, they weren't going for an Aussie track, per se, but something which was an AMERICAN HIT. Besides, Festival Records had nothing to do with it - they licensed the track thru its American lessee, A&M Records.
Besides, what other Aussie tracks would Americans know at the time? |

| | And Canada had NC and TC. But since we're talkin' U.S., all this is irrelevant. |

| | This was around the period K-Tel began instituting number codes for different pressings. On {Images #509189 & 509190} you see a "29" to the right of the K-Tel logo at left. I'm not sure, but could anyone say whether or not this was a Keel Mfg. pressing? |

| | Funny you should mention "Love's Theme", R.C.! I bought a Reader's Digest set last time I was in Newcastle, had that track contained at Tr.6/Side1/Record 4. The album set: "Easy Listening Sounds Of The Seventies. Sorry, I'm not submitting this one - waaaayyyy too much work involved!(I'm thinking of my poor ol' typing fingers here! Ouch!) |

| | R.C., I don't think I was debating, I was simply saying that when K-Tel USA wanted to include an Australian track in one of their issues for the US market, there were far better, and far worthier tracks that could've been used than that from Janet Mead. But then I'm an atheist so something like that from Mead taking up valuable LP space that could've been put to far better use(like using the Johnny O'Keefe/Margaret McLaren version of Mockingbird, for instance), really rankles me! |

| | R.C.'s comment: "Neil you only have to look at K-Tel's Australian compilation albums would that answer your question". I'm sorry R.C. but you're missing the point I'm trying to make. I'm NOT talking about Australian K-Tel issues here. I'm talking about the calibre of songs that would be worthy of appearing in a US compilation so the American buyers of these K-Tel albums can hear the great stuff coming from "down-under"! But Janet Mead's piece of religious shite isn't fit to be seen or heard ANYWHERE! Festival could've supplied K-Tel USA with any number of tracks of far superior quality and calibre to include on their compilations. As I said, I cringe when I think of what the Americans are hearing when their turntable stylus reaches track 6 on this LP's Side B. A great alternative would've been Johnny O'Keefe and Margaret McLaren's version of Mockingbird, far and away better than that of James Taylor and Carly Simon! |

| | Sorry, R.C., that's not the point of what I was saying. I was asking why couldn't K-Tel USA have chosen something far worthier from Australia to put in their American compilation than that piece of crap from Janet Mead(I cringe when I think that rubbish is representing Australia on this US compilation when there are songs a thousand times better that could've been used). |

| | Of all the Australian stuff they could've used for this album, why the F*** did they use that piece of religious crap from Janet Mead? They could've used a Kevin Johnson track, Rock & Roll(I Gave You The Best Years Of My Life), a far worthier inclusion - and the ORIGINAL version! |
