Notes

Irving Herbert "Herb" Pomeroy was a reknowned trumpet and flugelhorn player who started playing these during his childhood. Although Mr. Pomeroy attended Harvard University to study dentistry, he quit this field so that he could advance his jazz career. After Mr. Pomeroy had gained more jazz playing experience with several big bands of the 1940's, he organized his own band that became nationally well-known in a Boston club called the Stable in the late 1950s.
