Notes

This disc of 33.33 rpm consists of six reknowned jazz musicians (Milt Jackson, Benny Golson, Art Farmer, Conrad (Connie) Kay, Tommy Flanagan and Paul Chambers. Benny Golson had composed I Remember Clifford to honor the jazz trumpeter Clifford Brown who was killed in an automobile crash in 1956.

This United Artists disc of 33.33 rpm was the first album of the 4000 catalog # system on which the UA logo first appeared above the caption "RECORDED FOR TALENTED LISTENERS" and below UNITED ARTISTS in a rectangle near the upper right corner. Above this rectangle was the catalog ID #. By means of the stereofonic equivalent (UAS-5022) of this disc, the UA logo structure was fundamentally identical to that of the mono LP except that the word STEREO appeared vertically to the right of the UA logo and the stereo catalog ID # appeared above the UA logo rectangle. However, the United Artists logo of the previously issued UA discs starting from UAL-4005 was indicated UNITED ARTISTS HIGH FIDELITY above a horizontal line from which RECORDED FOR TALENTED LISTENERS was indicated below this line. Furthermore, all the above-mentioned capital letters were enclosed in a square near the upper right angle and the catalog ID # was immediately above this square. By means of the stereofonic UA logo starting from UAS-5005, this logo was in the same format except that a second horizontal line appeared below the RECORED...LISTENERS and the word STEREO was indicated below this second line of this box. The final four UA discs of 33.33 rpm of the 4000 catalog # system that utilized the UA logo square box were UAL-4027, UAL-4028, UAL-4030 and UAL-4031. Accordingly the UAL-4024, UAL-4025 and UAL-4029 front jackets had the new UA abbreviated logo in a rectangle. Finally, UAL-4026 was never issued.
