I saw this tour in Brisbane and Magazine certainly could play but unfortunately were supporting XTC on the same tour. I say unfortunately because by the time XTC hit the stage the show was over and XTC just could not compete with sheer live power of a rampant Magazine. This album captures that feeling with cranked up, superbly executed live versions of songs from their first three albums. This album goes a long way to explain why Andy Partridge developed a sudden fear of playing live. Coming on after Magazine in this mood would be enough terrify anyone.
