“Who Gave You The Roses” composer Irving Newman (1913-1990) was the brother of Alfred Newman, Lionel Newman and Emil Newman, and the father of Randy Newman.
A physician by trade, coming from a very musical family Irving Newman was described in a Vanity Fair article as "the rare Jew who felt he had let down his family by falling into medicine."
He wrote songs on the side most of his life.
I own 3 copies of this LP. All same cover, two of them with identical label as #1167510, but with matrix numbers MG 6342 T1/T2 and MG 6342 T7 respectively. The third copy has matrix numbers MG 6342 T4/T3 and slightly different track listing layout, as can be seen on images # 2976962/63 respectively.
I also added yet another label variant. Don't know matrix numbers here, as it's not my physical copy. I've just kept these images some years. Now that they are filed here, I don't need to keep them in my files any more! ;-)
