The 150 Motown Hits Of Gold Collection Box-Set comprised of 9 compilation L.P.s.

The first 8 of these L.P.s contained the overwhelming majority of the Motown recordings that had entered the U.K. Top 30 up to mid 1985. These were presented in rough chronological order from Motown's first U.K. chart hit, "My Guy" by Mary Wells (#5 in 1964), through to "Rhythm Of the Night" by DeBarge (#4 in 1985). The main exceptions to this were Stevie Wonder's hits from 1973 onwards which were omitted for contractual reasons.

These 8 Hits Compilations were also made individually available separate from the Box-Set.

The 9th disc contained a selection of new or recent Motown material and was only available as part of the Box-Set.

nboldock 27th Jan 2015		Yes - excellent work, and backed up by Sladesounds who I believe sorted the various links across the entries. Bravo! I've a sneaky suspicion it might be a European set of releases rather than strictly UK, but I'm not sure, and it's no biggy either way...
