Anders Melander - Biography

Born January 7, 1948 in Stockholm, Swedish pop musician and composer.
He has appeared in Nationalteatern and was one half of the pop duo Cue.

A group from the Little Theatre formed in 1969 Gorilla Theatre. The group split later on itself and Anders came with the part that in 1970 took the name Nationalteatern.
The first album, Ta det som ett löfte … ta det inte som ett hot ("Take it like a promise ... do not take it as a threat"), was released in 1972 and two years later, Livet Är En Fest ("Life is a party").

Anders left Nationalteatern in 1975, but reunited with the group for occasional gigs.
2010 marks the group forty years, and will then re-emerge with his original crew.

The year after that Anders left the Nationalteatern, he began a collaboration with the director and writer Peter Schildt. It began with Anders wrote music for the television series "Dagar med Knubbe". Since then they have worked with a long list of television and film productions, including "Lycka Till", "Xerxes", "Ebba Och Didrik", "Glappet" and "Suxxess".

In a couple of occasions, Anders music to television shows got their own lives. For the series Lycka till (1980), he wrote, among many other music, a dansbandslåt played briefly in one scene.
- The song, which was a parody of the genre, called Hallå Västindien (Hello Caribbean).
received a successful impact. It was recorded by the Vikings, Curt Haager and several other dansband (dance bands).

Even more successful was Anders with the song Burnin' which he wrote for the television series Glappet (the Gap) (1997). Without any real marketing of the song sold it triple platinum (90,000 copies). Burnin', which was sung by Niklas Hjulström, became the most played song on Swedish radio since the mid-1980s. For a time this was number one on all Swedish lists.
Anders and Niklas Hjulström constituted now pop duo Cue. Following pressure from the environment Anders wrote a sequel, Crazy, who also entered the charts. But pop duo soon became Niklas Wheels Ströms solo project. Anders liked nothing further on the live scene.

Since the 1990s, Anders music played daily on TV 4th He has written vignette music channel's news, local news, sports and morning programs.
