Avengers - BiographyThe Avengers were a four piece Wellington band active from 1966 to 1970. The lineup was Clive Cockburn (guitar, keyboards), Ian (Hank) Davis (drums), Eddie McDonald (bass) and Dave Brown (guitar). All four sang. The band was created to play at 'The Place' and their name was decided after a newspaper competition. They became resident band at Ali Baba's in Cuba Street and were renowned for being able to play just about anything in the charts.
