Don Freed - BiographyCanadian folk singer-songwriter active since the 1970s. Freed launched his career when he appeared in a documentary film about Johnny Cash and was seen duetting with Cash on a song. He released his first album, Off in All Directions, in the early 1980s. His works have primarily been released on independent labels such as Bushleague, with two of his albums, "On the Plains" and "Live, Arr!" being released only on cassette. In the 1990s, Freed gained some media exposure when he became romantically linked with iconic Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, but musically he chose to remain based in Western Canada, recording songs focusing on his Metis heritage in the 1990s and 2000s. « Back to Discography Edit This Biography : Biography Credits
