Georgie Fame - BiographyClive Powell, professionally renowned Georgie Fame, had formed a group called the Blue Flames, who had a recording contract with Columbia Records of the United Kingdom. This group had two number one hits, Yeh Yeh in 1965 and Get Away in 1966. In 1967, Georgie Fame had departed from the Blue Flames to pursue a solo career with CBS records of the UK. Again, Mr. Fame had achieved another number one success which was called the Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde. This tune was of the Third Face of Fame disc of 33.33 rpm, which was issued in the UK. However, this disc of 33.33 rpm was titled Bonnie and Clyde when this disc was released in the United States and Canada. Though this disc had sold moderately well in the USA, this monaural Fame disc is highly collectible due to the fact that this disc was issued during the time that many United States record companies had gradually stopped recording and releasing monaural discs of 33.33 rpm. Finally, this was the penultimate Epic disc of 33.33 rpm that was both monaurally and stereophonically issued in the United States. The ULTIMATE monaural Epic disc of 33.33 rpm was the Dance to the Music LP of Sly and the Family Stone. « Back to Discography Edit This Biography : Biography Credits
