Joe And Eddie - BiographyJoe Brown and Eddie Gilbert were an African American gospel/folk/pop duo who rose to fame in the early 1960s through appearances on TV most notably the Danny Kaye Show. The duo specialized in gospel and folk songs, and were notable for their harmonies and for Gilbert's wide-ranging vocalizations (see "Children Go" for an example). The duo also appeared in the film Hootenanny, performing their signature song, "There's a Meetin' Here Tonight". Gilbert died in an automobile crash in August 1966.
