Johnny Preston - BiographyFrom The Record 'Gunshot Records, GUN 002': "Johnny Preston was born in Port Arthur in 1939. He played rhythm & blues with a band called The Shades. Heavenly influenced by J. P. Richardson (The Big Bopper), Running Bear was released in 1959 and became a big hit for Mercury Records. Cradle Of Love was released next and also became a hit. This was followed by Feel So Fine.
