Leonard Nimoy - Biography

American actor best known for playing Spock in the Star Trek franchise. Also a poet and a singer, Nimoy released several albums of pop-folk in the late 1960s-early 1970s, including one album capitalizing on his Star Trek fame. Nimoy also played master of disguise The Great Paris on Mission: Impossible (after Martin Landau quit) and appeared in numerous TV series and movies. Retired from acting in the early 2000s to devote his time to photography, though he was coaxed out of retirement by an invitation to play Spock once again in the 2009 Star Trek movie (and its later sequel, Into Darkness). This led to Nimoy playing a recurring role in the sci-fi series Fringe by the producer of the Trek movie.
