MacLean And MacLean - BiographyFrom the early 1970s until the early 1980s, the brothers Gary and Blair MacLean toured Canada as the comedy duo MacLean and MacLean. Most popular in bars and other rough-shod nightspots, the MacLean's brand of raunchy, often gross humor proved popular, if controversial in some of the more conservative communities where they were occasionally banned from performing. Began recording a mix of live and studio albums for the El Mocambo label (named after the iconic Toronto club where many of their shows were recorded). The brothers' act featured a mix of skits, ad-libbed rantings, and musical numbers, often adapting Canadian folk songs. The act came to an end in the late 1990s; Gary became a radio host and Blair took up painting. Gary died in 2001; Blair in 2008. The duo scored one chart hit, albeit in the UK, when their recording "Dolly Parton's Tits" made the British charts after it was featured in a TV programme there. The two also are credited with creating the character of The Champ; voiced by Jake Edwards, the Champ was featured in comedy monologues that were syndicated to Canadian radio stations for many years. « Back to Discography Edit This Biography : Biography Credits
