Straight Eight - BiographyStraight Eight are a British based classic rock band from West London. Originally formed in 1976 by Rick Cassman and Richard Kingsman they were discovered and signed to The Who’s Pete Townshend's Eel Pie record label. Their first album No Noise From Here featured bassist Paul Schofield and drummer Rod Berrydale Johnson and was recorded and produced by ex Genesis producer John Burns. Following Scofield’s departure and the sacking of Rod Johnson the band were joined by bassist Steve Cherry and drummer Paul Turner. Two more albums were recorded for RCA records, Shuffle n Cut and Straight To The Heart. After a successful European tour with Queen the band sadly split up. Fast forward to 2016 and original members Rick, Steve, Richard and drummer Paul reformed to record an independent new album, New Guitar. The band also performed a sell out showcase gig at Twickenham famous Eel Pie Club.
