The Move - BiographyThe Move was formed from accomplished bands who had moved from their previous top Birmingham bands. Founding members: Roy Wood, formerly of Mike Sheridan and The Nightriders. Carl Wayne, Bev Bevan and Chris 'Ace' Kefford formerly from Carl Wayne and The Vikings Trevor Burton from Mayfair Set Due to arguments within the band over what genre they should be focussed on, Roy Wood writing more Pop orientated records, while Burton and Kefford wanted to be a harder Rock band, caused the band line up to change. Ace leaving in 1968 and Burton in 1969. After much persuasion Wood got Jeff Lynne to leave The Idle Race and join the band to aid his plan in forming a pop band with orchestral backing which is what the final line up of The Move became, as Wood, Lynne and Bevan changed the band into The Electric Light Orchestra Band Lineup Changes 1965-1968 Carl Wayne / Roy Wood / Trevor Burton / Ace Kefford / Bev Bevan 1968-1969 Carl Wayne / Roy Wood / Trevor Burton / Bev Bevan 1969-1970 Carl Wayne / Roy Wood / Rick Price / Bev Bevan 1971-1972 Roy Wood / Jeff Lynne / Bev Bevan « Back to Discography Edit This Biography : Biography Credits
