Kel Hard 30th Sep 2024		Vinyl Album Deep Purple - Shades Of Deep Purple	1st set of labels pictured are true 1st Tetragrammaton pressings. The other 3 sets of labels are of counterfeit copies. Sets 2 & 4 are from the 70's, set 3 is from the 80's. The heavily distributed (and inferior sounding) counterfeits/pirates were produced by notorious US counterfeiter John Lamonte, who operated "Creative Sounds, Ltd", and later, the budget "Power Sound 2001" CD label. His LP's were made from poor needledrops. As the 3 Tetragrammaton LP's were not reissued by WB in the US in the 70's (Canada and Japan had reissues), these became ideal fodder for counterfeits. Note that all Lamonte-produced counterfeits have the talking/door slamming excised from "Hey Joe".
