| | The Jam just weren't good enough and I never bought their records. I and all my friends at the time regarded them as a band that all the little yobs liked (which they did) and nobody I knew bought them either. I suppose it depended where you came from and from where and whom you got your influences, but The Jam just weren't cool at all. Although The Jam were more or less my age, it was kids several years younger who bought their records. We just looked, listened and laughed. |

| | Hello Hooray,
I did own "All Mod Cons","Setting Sons", "Snap with the Live EP" and "Dig The New Breed" but let them all go. "Sound Affects" is the only album I've kept. I also had the "Beat Surrender" double EP but it got stolen but still have the 12" of "A Town Called Malice / Precious" and the 7"s of "The Bitterest Pill" and "This Is The Modern World" but let "Funeral Pyre" go about 10 years ago. So you could say I have listened to this band beyond the scope of this EP.
Personal taste is always subjective and I'm sure many people still love the Jam and always will. Obviously that's not the case with me though and I stand by the earlier comment. It's just my opinion, it's not a fact and I suppose I was being a bit cheeky too as I do still have some other stuff by the Jam. There's no accounting for taste, particularly in my case I can be fickle sometimes and chop and change with the wind.
We can't all like the same things and I can't even like some things as much as I used to. Time marches on and opinions change.
Have A Nice Day. |

| | Yeah, I don't find them hard to listen to either. Sound Affects remains one of my faves from the era. |

| | I have to ask Lee; is this a group that you've listened to much beyond this EP? "The entire collection of the best of the Jam". SurelyThis cd fits that description better? |

| | An Australia only release that contains the entire collection of the best of the Jam. Time hasn't been kind to this band and even getting through this can be a struggle these days. |
