Ade Macrow 6th Jan 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumDonovan - What's Bin Did And What's Bin Hid | Slightly enlarged front photo, with text shifted further to right.
Ade Macrow 5th Jan 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumDonovan - What's Bin Did And What's Bin Hid | Individually numbered as well.
Ade Macrow 30th Jul 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumSteeleye Span - Hark! The Village Wait | Not surprised you're confused Gian Paolo! These were definitely bona-fide UK releases, not intended for export but the label situation did make it seem as if Steeleye were intent on having their work appear on as many British labels as possible.
Ade Macrow 14th Apr 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumTyrannosaurus Rex - Dwarfish Trumpet Blues | That's a shame, Les. The Pantone 554 is presumably more like British Racing Green and the darker tone would have made a nicer contrast with the orange vinyl.
Ade Macrow 9th Feb 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumDonovan - H.M.S. Donovan | The tri-fold colour poster was only included in the first 1,000 pressings of the orange label. Subsequent orange label versions and the other two label designs do not include the poster.
Ade Macrow 9th Feb 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumDonovan - H.M.S. Donovan | A further minor label variation - 3A, if you will - has the full stops reinstated for H.M.S. on the rising sun label and the song titles in upper and lower case, rather than the all capitals, as depicted above.
Ade Macrow 23rd Jan 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumMary O'Hara - Songs Of Erin | The other five songs from the LP appeared on the earlier eponymous Beltona EP (IEP 41).
Ade Macrow 30th Oct 2019 | | 12" SingleT. Rex - Deep Summer (Instrumental) | Ah, gotcha, Henry! Thanks. That explains it.
Ade Macrow 14th Oct 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumDonovan - The Pye History Of British Pop Music: Donovan Vol. 2 | Added now, Charlie. Both this and Vol. 1 are gatefold sleeves, with the front consisting of a single piece of card a nd the back housing the actual record.
Problem is, my scanner's not big enough to cope and I've had to rely on images from a Donovan chat group I ran, long ago, and these didn't include the above. One day...
Ade Macrow 12th Oct 2019 | | 12" SingleT. Rex - Deep Summer (Instrumental) | Where is this Marc Bozzo misprint on label? My copy and the one shown here correctly state 'Marc Bolan'. Can someone please add scan.
Ade Macrow 5th Oct 2019 | | 12" SingleT. Rex - Dandy In The Underworld | Consider these scans just as 'placeholders'. I'll clean my scanner and re-do soon. (The red vinyl is much brighter, fr'instance).
Made a pigs' ear of it, as Dandy is front cover, with Celebrate Summer image as back. Asked Mods to correct and delete aberrant image.

Ade Macrow 28th Sep 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumDonovan - Pop Chronik 13 | Double LP. Gatefold sleeve. Integrated 4 page booklet.
Ade Macrow 28th Sep 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumDonovan - The Pye History Of British Pop Music: Donovan | Catalogue number is PYE 502. Sent correction four times but keeps being ignored.
mod edit: sorry Ade. We're a bit stretched. Correction done for you.
Ade Macrow 26th Sep 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumDonovan - Sunshine Superman | Later reissued, pressed with orange/gold vinyl.
Ade Macrow 25th Sep 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumDonovan - Cosmic Wheels | During the 1973 OPEC petrol crisis, single sleeve versions of Cosmic Wheels were pressed, minus inners and poster. These curiously used the American Epic orange-with-white-concentric-circles label design rather than the standard UK yellow label. Such copies are now very rare.
Ade Macrow 25th Sep 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumDonovan - Essence To Essence | Added white labels only used for first pressings.
Ade Macrow 28th Aug 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumDonovan - Radio Sessions 1965 | Exactamundo, ppint!
Ade Macrow 26th Aug 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumDonovan - Radio Sessions 1965 | Though it's part of a long series of similar albums, I suspect it's perhaps 'semi-legit', rather like those releases on the Italian Joker label in the mid-70s.
Ade Macrow 14th Aug 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumDonovan - Open Road | Still trying to get green inner gatefold with lyrics to scan.
Ade Macrow 14th Aug 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumDonovan - Radio Sessions 1965 | Note pastiches of Pye 'ball' logo (on labels); Pye International and the Marble Arch 'house style' front cover..
Ade Macrow 30th Jul 2019 | | Cassette AlbumJimmy Shand - Jimmy Shand | Needs correcting from 'Bellona' to 'Beltona'.
Ade Macrow 19th Jun 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumManuel And The Music Of The Mountains - More Manuel | There is another version of this LP, issued for the Open Day(s), presumably at Feltham on 28th and 29th May 1977. This has a silver jacket, with a full colour picture of the Queen on the front and Prince Philip on the back.
The spine is entitled 'A Souvenir Of Your Visit To EMI Records Production And Distribution Division in red capitals. Label is the standard tan-and-red EMI design, which I've added here. Don't have a scanner large enough to add cover though unfortunately and haven't yet sourced the images anywhere on the internet.
The full title of the record is A Souvenir Of Your Visit To EMI Records Production And Distribution Division Open Day (sic) 28th - 29th May 1977 In The Queen's Silver Jubilee Year. There is another catalogue number - OD 2 - at top right-hand corner on back and the usual EMI blurb at centre bottom (all titling in black on a red strip above and below the two portraits. Given the extra OD 2 number, should this be accorded a separate entry?
If so, the labels can be shifted by a mod and the EMSS1/OD 2 number be assigned elsewhere. The label has 'Studio 2 Stereo' added along the centre line as well.
No mention of Manuel and The Music Of The Mountains anywhere on sleeve. Plain white standard paper EMI inner sleeve. Akin to the similar gatefold STWO 8 promo release issue by EMI on Columbia/Studio Two. Wonder if there was an OD 1?
Ade Macrow 3rd May 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumProcol Harum - Rock Roots | Though part of the 6 album 'Rock Roots' series by Decca, this was the only one to appear with a Cube Records label and the company should thus be given as Cube, perhaps with a link to the other five Decca-labelled LPs in the sequence.
Also the 'ROOTS 4' catalogue number reads, in full, 'ROOTS 4 (HIFLY 22)' as this was in lieu of the never-issued HIFLY album of that number.
Ade Macrow 23rd Nov 2018 | | 78 RPMJane Bartlett - The Lullaby Book | Unfortunately the third disc is missing. It would rightly nowadays be considered a COMPLETELY unacceptable song title/subject for the second (116) disc!
Album title is No. 6 - The "Lullaby" Book
Ade Macrow 1st Nov 2018 | | Vinyl Album[no artist listed] - Parade Of Pops Volume 8 | Only cover in series to have two models on front,
Ade Macrow 22nd Aug 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumSteeleye Span - Original Masters | Some copies came with an oversticker (see added image) on back, acknowledging non-Chrysalis sourced material.
Ade Macrow 10th Jul 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Brazil Classics 1 Beleza Tropical | This is not the same as the David Platz headed Fly Records.
Ade Macrow 4th Jul 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumMarc Bolan And T. Rex - Zinc Alloy And The Hidden Riders Of Tomorrow | The only good thing about this, as Randybullcow points out, was the (unannounced) much longer version of Teenage Dream with the extended Lonnie Jordan piano outro that was edited out of all other releases. This made it worth braving the execrable, wrong period 'artwork', though, of course, nobody knew that at the time. And yes, I duly purchased all the other five gatefold reissue albums in the series as well.
The cut must surely have been included in error, as John & Shan Bramley would otherwise have pointed it out on the packaging and label.
Ade Macrow 4th Jun 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Alexander Brothers - Tunes Of Glory | Hallmark also issued this album with same catalogue number but reversed front cover photo and song titles on right, not left, side, for some reason.
Ade Macrow 25th May 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Top Of The Poppers - The Top Of The Poppers Sing And Play T.Rex's Greatest Hits | And WHY did Hallmark erroneously entitle 'The Groover' as just 'Groover'?
