Crazyhead - What Gives You The Idea That You're So Amazing Baby?
Scans added. Tracks on Side-B label are ass-about-face - the record plays as listed above, with Out On A Limb coming before Snake Eyes.

Whaddya know! Just read here that the cassette I've got with the 4 extra tracks IS a UK version of this Cassette after all! Thanks Cam!

Good point Cam, but it's completely the same as the inlays and cassette labels here, UK Code 13, BIEM/GEMA on the labels, the difference being the addition of text on the inlay's front panel: "-Includes- 4 Extra Tracks" and of course the 4 extra songs info on the inner and their correponding titles on the cassette labels. It's even got the same screws on Side B of the cassette shell, and the circle mark(?) in Side 2's cassette shell window... (You'll see when I get it uploaded). Fascinating.

Ok Cam I'll give it a go. I was thinking that there may be a conflict in the system if I enter an item with exactly the same reference details as an existing one. I can see by your T-Rex example it is possible. Thanks for your tip, Bigs

Hey Mods, I have a copy of this cassette, with two extra tracks on the end of each side. The tricky thing is that it is identical to this entry, re. cat no, and all other reference numbers. I'd love to upload it, but how? Please advise... BigT

Would love to, Auto, but I can't seem to figure out how to change just a venue without making a whole new entry... Can you advise? Ta, Bigs

Stephen Malkmus And The Jicks @ Lille Vega
A good, lengthy gig. Although the E-Ticket displays the typeface for their Mirror Traffic LP, many of the songs came from the following Wigout At Jagbags LP. During the encore, the gig diverged into a medley of improvised cover versions which included many Pavement numbers.

A couple links 1 and 2 on You Tube for your aural pleasure

Blonde Redhead @ Store Vega
Venue moved from Lille Vega (Small Vega) to Stor Vega (Large Vega) due to popular demand (apparently... but the place was only half full). Blonde Redhead were touting the release of their LP Penny Sparkle. A disappointing gig. The artists seemed to be taking themselves too seriously. Support came from a band called Porcelain Raft, who were so good, they (to quote Spike Milligan) "left an indellible blank on my mind."

Blondie - Parallel Lines
With hats off to pantsman and camshaft, I've added some 800x800 images of sleeve and labels (85335 - 85338).
The A-side is A5, but the B-side is B3.
Note the Buddy Holly song on Side 2, Track 5 is published by MPL Communications - McCartney owned the Holly catalogue at the time of the 5th issue, and the label has the credit change from the first issue accordingly ;-)

Plain white paper (like thin "paper bag" paper) inner sleeve for this one - no lyric sheet like UK or Germany... :(

Hey Magic Marmalade! What does the dead wax say? Sometimes the dead wax tells if the tracks came from Moses Asch's masters, or Stinson's masters (the aluminium, acetate and other master discs were split between them after they parted ways...)... Many of the Stinson Masters were also direct transfers from the 78s and therefore were slightly dull-sounding...

Paul Weller - Stanley Road
Also released as a limited edition box set of the whole LP on 7" singles. I have this issue, and a very nice package it is too, but am unsure of which website/category I can upload it: Vinyl Albums or 45cat... Or both? It is an LP, just issued on 7"s (like the old days when loads of 78s in a collection was called an "album"). Then again it's also a 7" box set. I vouch for both. Any comments out there?

The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter
The 80s re-issue on the back cover doesn't list the Decca address next to the logo, and the labels have a slightly higher ring-rim around the outer edge.

The same cover issue also came with a record having Decca re-designed Silver/Blue/Red/White-labels in the mid-80s too.

See "Label Design 12 & 13" here

Hey Nicoldo - thanks for this - I got this record in Bath, UK, some time around 1990, from a stall in the regular Saturday antique market off Walcot Street. The guy who ran the record stall had a shop in Warminster called Drastic Plastic. This cost me £3.

Like my other purchase that day - The Beatles' "Beatles For Sale" - the cover for this one is not card at all, but a thicker paper. The sleeve has been re-drawn and translated into Russian, and the vinyl - again, like my Beatles For Sale - the vinyl weighs about ½ a kilo and is as thick as a plank of wood!

The sound is also superb - sounds brand spanking new, which was a great antidote to all those very worn, muddy-sounding UK copies that were circulating around that time. There is a slight drop-out in the sound, for about a second, during the middle of "Monkey Man", but otherwise perfect.

Hey I got this LP too! I bought it in Bath, UK, mid-90s, from a stall in the regular Saturday tram shed market off Walcot Street. The guy who owned the stall had a shop in Warminster called Drastic Plastic. Seriously, I got so many great records from there! This cost me £3. I have no idea how he came to have it.

The cover for this one is pretty thin paper - not card at all, but the vinyl... it's heavy as hell! It must be 500g or something - it weighs a ton! The sound knocks seven bells from any Parlophone or EMI original OR repressing as well - it's so warm and smooth.

Madonna - Die Another Day (Radio Edit)
According to this the issue uploaded here is in fact the German issue (Catalog number: 9362 42494-2, not W595CD1) and was only released there, not throughout the whole of Europe.

The UK version (Cat no. W595CD1, not 9362 42494-2), is very similar (same tracks), but has a promo sticker on the case, a "gatefold" inner (as opposed to the German issue's "single sheet" inner) and the disc is made by Disctronics.

See here for more details...

Pretty confusing, I know - as both UK and German issues have the same barcode - but crucially the German issue does not have the W595CD1 reference.

Suggest therefore a change of classification from Europe to Germany..., and the removal of Cat. no reference W595CD1, for the sake of good order...?

... And yes... I know it's got an HMV price sticker on it in Pounds Sterling, but HMV could have imported a German issue to cover demand in the UK (I recall in the early 90s the Oxford Street store in London had US Tori Amos CD singles on the display racks, among other goodies...) ...Discuss...

U2 - Electrical Storm (William Orbit Mix)
Added scan (44054) of CD inlay front with promo sticker on sleeve (originally I think it must have been on the CD case - it seems like it's been removed and re-applied by the previous owner - thus saving it for our eyes, and posterity, for ever!).
For the record, the CD with this issue was "Made in Germany by Universal M & L" ;-)

U2 - Discotheque
Scans added (43727-43730) of "regular" CD single inlay (i.e. - non-digipak - just a regular thin, transparent plastic CD single case).

CD "Manufactured in France by PMDC" but other wise the CD image is the same as 20701, and the inlays and printing are exactly the same, albeit in a different packaging format.
