Jack Scott - What Am I Living For
This one looks suspiciously like a boot to me, particularly the back sleeve. Four tracks on side two appear to be from ABC Paramount.

Johnny Cash - With His Hot And Blue Guitar
I didn't realise there were colour differences in various issues, however I'm pleased to say mine has the light blue background.

Various Artists - Lakeshore Music Presents Good Old Rock & Roll
I know what you mean carey, same with the term R&B. To me that's Joe Turner, BB King, The 5 Royales etc, not the stuff that's called R&B nowadays.

About 75% of this lot is NOT rock n roll.

Amos Milburn - Chicken Shack Boogie
This is an absolute must for boogie woogie fans. Every track is a killer diller, except for the last track which everyone but me thinks it's marvelous, I think it's shite, a badly done revival
to cater for the rock'n'rollers [of which I am one of course] but this one leaves me cold.

Yes Bill, it is a very good album, no crap on this one. the only stuff missing is the Flip/Sun
hillbilly tracks, which I really dig.

This sleeve, back & front, plus disc are almost identical to my US Del-fi issue which I've owned since the mid 60s. The disc is of a type of vinyl I've not seen before, almost shellacish [is that a word ? well it is now !]

Went to see Chuck Berry at Middlesbrough Town Hall many moons ago, this lot were on. They were really crap, mind you, not my cuppa tea really. Then Chuck appeared, blimey! he as even worse.

Johnny Cash - With His Hot And Blue Guitar
This sleeve is not the 57 variety,[excuse the gag, it was totally unintended, but I thought I'd leave it in for a laugh !] it's probably from 69/70 ish. All of Johnny's Sun albums were reissued in so called stereo. I have a couple, but they are thankfully still in mono, despite what the sleeve indicates. Dunno about this one, as mine is a 57 issue with no stereo at the top left. Also the number system changed, LP 1220 on original pressings, became SLP 1220 on repressings. Then later on these 'stereo' issues.

Back in the mid 60s, Breathless Dan called this a great rockabilly album, he was so right, this is a real belter of an album.

This is a great album [not got it now], only problem was poor sound quality, typical of early 'Collector' albums

I thought this was earlier than '76. I bought this one. A mixed bag here, some real classy 50s hillbilly and rockabilly, but the last 4 tracks on side 2 are really bad [IMHO]. Stutterin' Cindy though, is a cracker from around 1968, produced by Breathless Dan. A pal of mine brought me a copy back as a prezzie from a trip to Memphis, along with a bio King 45 by Mac Curtis. those were the days !

Walked into WH Smiths one lunchtime for a skeg through the racks, and BANG ! There it was, straight out of the blue ! There was no promotion or anything like that. What a gem, a few unissued sides here in 1974. Little did we know at the time there was still more to come !

I agree here, as I bought mine from Reddington's in Birmingham about 1973.

I also paid a quid for mine, sleeve and disc in quite good shape. Early 50s, can't argue with that. Had mine about 30 years and played it only once, that was enough for me ! Had 'Strange Fruit' on a Brunswick 78 with 'House of the Rising Son' on t'other side, that one is long gone, about 45 years back I would think.

Joe Turner - His Greatest Recordings
This is a great album with really good sound, and as a bonus, Track B2 was an unissued version [not take] with differing lyric. Also got the 'Chuck Willis' & 'The Drifters', missed out on 'The Clovers' which I understand also has unissued stuff aboard.
