candiman SUBS 4th Sep 2024		Vinyl Album Ann Odell - A Little Taste	[YouTube Video] RIP Ann Odell. It seems she has passed, possibly in 2021 judging by a comment on this Youtube entry. (If you expand the comments it is quite possible Bryan Ferry - with whom Ann had some input on some of his albums - commented Ann was the keyboard player in Blue Mink for a time. An album I stumbled upon only very recently. Really like it. Very English early 70s SSW, with a lot of the usual suspects of the time in the credits.

candiman SUBS 6th Apr 2024		Vinyl Album Todd Rundgren - Hermit Of Mink Hollow	I have uploaded a scan of a Bio sheet that is included in a my Promo copy. Interesting that it refers to the "recent" Back To The Bars live double album, which according to release dates here was released some 7 months after Hermit Discogs does refer to a reissue of Hermit but my copy appears to be an original.

candiman SUBS 23rd Mar 2024		Vinyl Album Man - Back Into The Future	Picked up a copy of this recently. The Side 1 and Side 3 labels have a large AL on the label to the right of where it says SIDE.. AL is in black, very neat, in the same or very similar font to that of MAN on the front cover, and looks like it was printed at the same time as the rest of the text on the label. It could be someone's name or initials I suppose but appears too integral to the label to be that.

candiman SUBS 27th Jan 2023		Vinyl Album The Jack Fear Big Band - The Jack Fear Big Band At "Yesterday's"	After commenting on Groove Juice Special earlier this month, picked up today here's another album featuring Frank Fennell on tenor sax. Angela Christian is featured vocalist on some tracks. She toured with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra for a number of years and also sang with the BBC Big Band and the Radio Orchestra. Her voice certainly sounds familiar from days when my parent's would have BBC Radio 2 on in the evenings.

candiman SUBS 25th Jan 2023		Vinyl Album Teena Marie - Lady T	God, this lady could sing. So soulful, and a real ache in her voice. Every time I hear her it brings tears to my eyes. I have never seen her quoted as saying she was influenced by Linda Jones, but there is a definite similarity in style. However, whereas Linda could go over the top sometimes, Teena keeps it reined in just right. Sadly missed.
