Cúlabúla 4th Jul 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumSpencer Davis Group - The Best Of The Spencer Davis Group Featuring Stevie Winwood | Yes, the ILPM designation was applied to classic LPs that were issued as part of the Island Life celebrations in the late 80s. I had the good sense to buy many of them at the time and they uniformly sound wonderful.
A great deal of them were simply ILPS original stampers, stamped through and then overprinted with ILPM.
As I own this one among them (and it is one of those with the 's' scored out with a capital M replacing it), I can tell you that this release is most definitely not mono, if not exactly the widest stereo ever heard. It closely resembles the 1U Pink Rim pressing of the early 70s.
As most of these cost 2.99IEP in the late 80s, I kick myself on a daily basis for not having bought every single one of them.

Cúlabúla 5th Jan 2019 | | Vinyl AlbumSkara Brae - Skara Brae | It is perfectly correct for Ó Domhnaill to appear as Uí Dhomhnaill in certain circumstances -but only in Irish, where it is the genitive case. Examples would be "Clann Uí Dhomhnaill" or "Muintir Uí Dhomhnaill". In English it must be Ó Domhnaill or O Donnell.
Ní Dhomhnaill is quite correct for females.

Cúlabúla 12th Dec 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumSkara Brae - Skara Brae | Could we get some things corrected in these notes ?
First Mícheál's surname is Ó DOMHNAILL. There is no 'h' after the 'd'.
It is the Ó DOMHNAILL family.
The townland is called Rann na Feirste in Irish.
The area should be referred to as a Gaeltacht. It is not necessary to specify it otherwise as there is no such thing as a Congolese Gaeltacht or a Swiss Gaeltacht.

Cúlabúla 12th Dec 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumMichael Hanly, Mícheál O'Donnell - Celtic Folkweave | Can someone clarify for me the true status of the last tracks on both sides ?
Is it simply that the French copy got it correct on label, sleeve and record while the Irish copy listed the two tracks the wrong way round on the sleeve ?

Cúlabúla 15th Jun 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Bothy Band - The Bothy Band | Yes, I have seen all photo variants of the rare sleeve. The Tommy and Donal photo is the most common but my girlfriend has the Micheal and Paddy hard to find copy.

Cúlabúla 15th Jun 2018 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - A Collection Of Beatles Oldies | It’s undoubtedly an Irish pressing. The font is the one typically used but the real giveaway is (p) in brackets rather than enclosed in a circle.
