Dale45 SUBS 3rd Aug 2019		Vinyl Album David Clayton-Thomas - David Clayton-Thomas	I was eleven when this was new. I recall hearing "Magnificent Sanctuary Band" on TV but never radio. It may have been Merv Griffin's show, which my mom watched a lot. I thought DCT: had a great voice, should have been a bigger solo star, was hampered by weak material. In all three he is similar to Allan Clarke.

Dale45 SUBS 28th Jul 2019		Vinyl Album Goddard Lieberson - Medicine, Mind And Music: A Consideration Of Their Links Through The Centuries	This is the first time I've encountered a record by Lieberson as an artist. He was a longtime producer at Columbia. I read that when they picked up Simon & Garfunkel, he said it sounds like a department store!

If "hit" means Billboard Hot 100, there are precisely three, all written by Laura Nyro. Many great writers here, of course. Three Dog Night also recorded the Three N's--Nilsson, Newman, Nyro.
Dale45 SUBS 28th Jul 2019		Vinyl Album Spirit - Twelve Dreams Of Dr. Sardonicus	A few months ago someone (USA) was talking to me about the Taurus/Stairway to Heaven controversy, and he didn't recognize that Spirit was a very important band. I regret that I didn't set him straight, but I was short on time and not in the mood to talk. Spirit may be less popular than Led Zeppelin, but I think Spirit is more listenable. I believe they're in the Hall of Fame--or should be!
Dale45 SUBS 28th Jul 2019		Vinyl Album Blood, Sweat And Tears - Blood, Sweat And Tears 3	I love this version of "Fire and Rain." It always reminds me of their second LP, even though it's from the third! It puts me in that "And When I Die" mood. Both songs are about death, but I hear them as life-affirming.
