(They Went That-a-way)	Side A is a somewhat tepid post war vocal, but the flip jumps back to the style of novelty sides Olsen did in the late ‘20’s. This one deals with the then immense popularity of matinee Westerns at the theaters in the late 1940’s. Posse: “Which way did they go?” Girl: They went that-a-way- and they was desperate! They almost took me with them!” Posse: “ No one’s THAT desperate!”

Many of the above issues listed in “Notes” are from my notes, and not listed in Rust’s discography of American Dance Bands. I didn’t have the Creager Cameo 0139 accessible to double check, but I think I deciphered my scribbling correctly. “I’m Following You” must have been a popular item to appear on nearly every dime store label that used the Plaza recordings. It is indeed a fine version.

DeweyGill SUBS 28th Sep 2024		78 RPM Joe “Wingy’ Mannone And His Club Royale Orchestra - Trying To Stop My Crying / Wailing Blues	It seems the early issues were catalogued by a monthly release date and hand numbered after the labels were printed. These early HRS pressings are desirable, as they are quality pressings and the mastering was excellent. This particular release sounds far better than the 1945 80000 series Brunswick reissues. The shellac even seems better than a typical ARC release of the time.

While it appears the “Levee Loungers” name was used prior for an issue or two, it was used regularly after this, Bunny Berigan on trumpet. He would become a frequent sideman from this point on.
