DeweyGill SUBS 28th Sep 2024		78 RPM Joe “Wingy’ Mannone And His Club Royale Orchestra - Trying To Stop My Crying / Wailing Blues	It seems the early issues were catalogued by a monthly release date and hand numbered after the labels were printed. These early HRS pressings are desirable, as they are quality pressings and the mastering was excellent. This particular release sounds far better than the 1945 80000 series Brunswick reissues. The shellac even seems better than a typical ARC release of the time.

While it appears the “Levee Loungers” name was used prior for an issue or two, it was used regularly after this, Bunny Berigan on trumpet. He would become a frequent sideman from this point on.

DeweyGill SUBS 25th Sep 2024		78 RPM Buddy Featherstonhaugh And The Radio Rhythm Club Sextet - Swing Music 1943 Series No. 529 / 530	Recorded June 18, 1943 Buddy’s Grandfather a noted geologist emigrated to the US and married a wealthy heiress. After being involved on the ground floor of a couple of railroads and working for the US government he returned to the UK. Buddy was a recipient of a nice inheritance and it afforded him a luxurious lifestyle to pursue his hobbies in music and as a rather successful race car driver. He spent it all. His estate home was later purchased by Jimmy Page, John Bonham died there.

On the top side, Dude sings the intro, and guitarist (brother?) Jack Skiles sings the refrain. There is an unmentioned celeste on this side, presumably played by pianist Johnny Black. Dude sings the reverse. There is a -1 in the runout on side one, a D in the runout on the reverse, if that helps the owner of the acetate.
