GimmeVinyl 28th Apr 2021		Vinyl Album Various Artists - Michigan Rocks	This album is a good slice of Michigan rock from the late 60s... Even though I already own over half the tracks on 45, it's really nice to have them on one LP. Also on the plus side, two of the tracks were recorded live at the Grande Ballroom, Detroit Mi. Heavy Music should have been credited to Bob Seger And The Last Heard... Not The Bob Seger System.

One thing caught my eye.. there's a ARP stamp in the dead wax... I didn't know that ARP was pressing LPs in 1963... I thought that didn't come till much later.

The album jacket would have been printed in the US. This particular LP was #12 in the PS100 series.. London's first set of LPs that are FFSS.. Full Frequency Stereo Sound. Compare labels to my Ted Heath London PS 117... They were released at the same time.

GimmeVinyl 1st Jan 2021		Vinyl Album Kiss - Rock And Roll Over	Bought this today... Wow, it really took me back to junior high school! It looks very much like the original pressing, except on much heavier vinyl.. the label is spot on, except for the missing NBLP catalog number, the song publishers, and the Mercury trademark on the bottom. Sounds fantastic!!

GimmeVinyl 25th Oct 2020		TV Prisoner: Cell Block H (1979 - 1986)	I've also been found guilty of watching this programme.. as it was shown on the UHF channel 20 WXON Detroit. The title then was Prisoner: Cell Block H in the US. It's been decades since I've seen it. The character names I do remember.. but little else. I do remember an old geezer TV repair man coming in to fix the telly, and remarked it was missing a valve.. and one of the gals made an escape, and "borrowed" some bloke's EH Holden ute that lived nearby..
GimmeVinyl 25th Oct 2020		TV Special Squad (1984 - 1985)	I used to watch this late night on CBC.. CBET Windsor Channel 9 many years ago. I thought it was a pretty good program. I've read that it was comparable to a UK program called The Professionals.. as the two shows had the same producer.
GimmeVinyl 21st Oct 2020		Vinyl Album Bob Seger And The Last Heard - Heavy Music: The Complete Cameo Recordings 1966-1967	This is an awesome collection of the early Bob Seger and The Last Heard singles put out on the Hideout and Cameo labels.. it sounds awesome, the pressing is nice and flat.. no skips or unwanted noise.. no distortion.. a very welcome addition to my collection!!

GimmeVinyl 4th Oct 2020		Vinyl Album The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour	I've heard of people having issues with the Rainbo pressings of the Beatles LPs.. I now own With The Beatles, Rubber Soul, Revolver, and now Magical Mystery Tour Rainbo pressings. I've had no problems whatsoever with the previous 3 LPs.. MMT did have a skip on Penny Lane, until I gave it a good cleaning with the Discwasher. Must have been either static, or a little piece of something... Plays just fine now.

In fact, I remember seeing Redbone on late night TV, on The Midnight Special program. But, what got me a good laugh was seeing people dancing to this on Soul Train.. OMG, the outfits.. totally Superfly! Look for it on YouTube..

I just purchased a brand new copy on Thursday. 180 gram vinyl. And it has returned to the glossy orange '74 style label. As I have read, it's pressed by Rainbo in Nashville, Tennessee.
GimmeVinyl 23rd Sep 2020		Vinyl Album Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin [IV]	I don't think that they are. I received a copy for Christmas.. it's black vinyl, and plays at 33 1/3 rpm.. The mastering doesn't seem to be as "hot" as the original 1971 US LP I once had..
