The Beatles - Please Please Me
Got my answer today. My new copy came. It was pressed in Germany, so I believe it's the 2012 Europe release. The copy I now own has a cat # of 0094638241614. According to the 2012 US entry, that one has a cat # of 094638241714.. It has a zero missing. Mine does not have the 8 page magazine.. does this issue require a separate entry? The label is a little different.. no mention of DeAgnostini SpA... Also Love Me Do and P.S. I Love You are in Mono, and it is stated that these two songs are sourced from the original analogue masters.

The Beatles - Meet The Beatles!
Hindsight is always 20/20... I had a copy of the green label Capitol C Meet The Beatles given to me when I just hit my teen years. Of course, I didn't know the significance of the green label, nor knew if that particular pressing would be worth anything in the future.. needless to say, that LP got played a lot, and was abused.. and subsequently was lost track of by the early '80s... Unfortunately quite a few of the LPs that I had when I was a teen suffered the same fate. It wasn't until after I was out of high school that I started paying a lot more attention to proper record care..

The Who - Meaty Beaty Big & Bouncy
Now that I'm thinking about it.. maybe I'll take a black Sharpie pen to that white rectangle that states UMC... It does distract from the way the label should look.

Passed on a "not so gently used" RCA Dynaflex pressing for a new Quality Record Pressing copy on Friday. Very happy with my purchase!

Ok lads... But is this the LP that is available today, or is it different in some way, shape, or form?

The Beatles - Sessions
Yes.. I've owned my copy of this LP since the early 90's.. Bought it at a little upstairs record shop in Ann Arbor Michigan. Paid $20 for it. I'd seen one in my last trip to Dearborn Music..and they were asking $20 for that copy. I categorize this as a "must have" in any serious Beatles collection. So, I've been listening to these tunes well before the Anthology series. I never bothered to look at the dead wax until recently. It only denotes side 1 and side 2. No other numbers or symbols are on it.

The Beatles - The Beatles' Second Album
Ok Beatlemaniacs.. uploaded pics of the label of the pressing that I own. As you can see, on side 2, my copy lists She Loves You as BMI, which makes it a later Scranton second pressing.

The Who - Tommy
Had to add a pic of this.. it's side 3 of the Tommy LP that my Aunt Richa gave to me when I was a teen, playing on my old Dual 1219. I've always thought the black and white Decca was one of the coolest looking labels..

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Cosmo's Factory
Bought this brand new, yesterday. If it weren't for the plain white inner sleeve, instead of the printed CCR sleeve from 1970, one could think that this may be a minty original pressing! The classic blue record label looks right, the pressing sounds awesome.. Quality Record Pressing must get kudos for the awesome job they have done!! I compared it to my original pressing of the CCR 'Willy And The Poor Boys" LP, and the only thing that I'd seen missing, was the Fantasy Records address in Berkeley CA. No bar codes anywhere, thankfully! Didn't bother to see if there was one on the shrink wrap. This is what a reissue should look like.

The Who - Who's Next
Just bought it yesterday. I've heard people complain that it doesn't sound as good as the original 1971 Track pressing.. but to me, it sounds better than the late '80s-early '90s MCA pressing that I owned years ago..

Various Artists - Oldies But Goodies Vol. 8
The Original Sound "Oldies but Goodies" compilations have always been top notch in my book. I too once had this LP when I was a kid.. it had belonged to my Aunt Richa. Played the hell out of it! Hope I can find a clean copy once more..

Mary L. Trump - Too Much And Never Enough
I got this in last week, and started reading it. No, I'm not a Trump supporter..never was! And.. neither is his niece Mary! Some people may think of it as a biased look into Donald Trump.. but I don't think it is at all... I think that it's a very honest look into a very flawed man that basically bought his way into the U.S. presidency.

The Beatles - I Want To Hold Your Hand / This Boy
Just seen a YouTube video.. some guy playing the Indian Parlophone 78 pressing of "This Boy" on a very early Victrola VI... Saying that I'm having rather mixed feelings about this is an understatement..

Harry James - Ain't Misbehavin' / 9:20 Special
Hey fellas... This YouTube clip by the78prof of the Columbia 9:20 Special pressing is not the same as my Columbia pressing... There are several very noticeable differences.. in the trumpet solo, the sax solo.. even the piano solo near the end of the song.. and I can prove it! Go to YouTube, and listen to the video that Kevin Gardner posted playing the pressing on the 60's Magnavox portable. That's the pressing I own! Also.. the video by Joseph T. Porter on a late 30's Radiola, and two videos posted by Mac NOMURA, played on a pair of acoustic Victrolas.. these are also the pressing that I own! So... Is there another "take" that was released on perhaps an LP by Columbia?

Harry James - Ain't Misbehavin' / 9:20 Special
Ahh... The trumpet solo about 30 seconds into the tune is a dead giveaway, now that I've heard them side by side... And the brass section sounds a little brighter on the V-Disc as compared to the Columbia pressing.

Lefty Frizzell - I Love You A Thousand Ways / If You've Got The Money I've Got The Time
Wow.. that recording BigBadBluesMan has on YouTube doesn't sound like my copy at all!! I'll have to look into this. The pressing I own has a faster tempo, and features an electric guitar solo. Now I know why! The Lefty Frizzell pressing I own is titled "If You Can Spare The Time", Columbia 20950 from 1952..

Capt Glenn Miller And The Army Air Forces Training Command Orchestra - Everybody Loves My Baby (But My Baby Don't Love Nobody But Me) / Stompin' At The Savoy
Ahh.. OK! Good luck on finding a V-Disc near mint!! I was lucky enough to find a collection in a antique store with the pressings in playable condition for $7-8 a piece! A little info on this particular pressing.. both A side tunes, "Everybody Loves My Baby" and "Stompin' at The Savoy" were broadcast on May 20, 1944 from NBC's Vanderbilt Theater in New York. Live feed from this broadcast was recorded onto 16" 33 1/3 rpm "safeties". These transcription discs were sent to the V-Disc offices in New York, and were thus shortly later dubbed into a 12" 78 rpm master for V-Disc production and pressed at RCA's Camden facility. The B side, "Stealin' Apples" was from a earlier V-Disc recording session at RCA studios in New York on January 21, 1944.

Capt Glenn Miller And The Army Air Forces Training Command Orchestra - Everybody Loves My Baby (But My Baby Don't Love Nobody But Me) / Stompin' At The Savoy
My favorite Glenn Miller recording that wasn't released on Bluebird/Victor. The $60 valuation..would that be for a relatively "clean" copy? My copy would not be in the "mint" category, but plays very nicely, when you consider the playback equipment these discs were subjected to!!
