HelBic 27th Feb 2023 | | CD AlbumSimon And Garfunkel - The Collection | I bought this this weekend (25/01/23) from an antique shop in York for a fiver.

HelBic 10th Nov 2022 | | Live MusicSqueeze @ Liverpool Philharmonic Hall | An excellent gig with Glenn Tilbrook doing all the heavy lifting. Musically they were excellent and packed in all the hits. JCC was his usual self, not my cup of tea and he did use a number of really old jokes between poems. I really don't like his shouty delivery.
Like I said, Squeeze, superb and value for money.

HelBic 27th Oct 2022 | | CD AlbumAmorphis - Queen Of Time | All scans added however I am unhappy with the digipak ones as due to it being gold, it really scans poorly. I may try to shoot it with my phone and see if they come out any better.

HelBic 24th Oct 2022 | | CD AlbumPlainsong - Following Amelia | All scans now completed and uploaded
|
HelBic 24th Oct 2022 | | CD AlbumPlainsong - Following Amelia | I will be adding full scans of all CDs and eventually the booklet, but there are a LOT!
Bear with me!
|
HelBic 17th May 2022 | | CD AlbumRush - Moving Pictures 40th Anniversary 3-CD Deluxe Edition | After adding this album, I realised that actually Disc 3 is merely part 2 of the "YYZ" gig started in Disc 2.

HelBic 15th Mar 2022 | | MagazineMZ. The No Nonsense Bike | My brother bought one of these in 1973 while I bought the CZ as it was slightly cheaper and I didn't earn much, so had to go for the cheaper (and not as good) bike.
I liked the MZ, not the greatest looking bike, but it rode well and I always felt comfortable on it.
It was easy to maintain (it must have been as he never did any...) and pleasant to ride.

HelBic 1st Sep 2021 | | CD AlbumFleetwood Mac - Rumours | Added scans of all booklet pages
|
HelBic 15th Jul 2021 | | CD AlbumFreddie Mercury - Never Boring | Also, for content of the DVD & Blu-Ray see shots of the cases above, also note, the content is identical in both, but obviously better quality in the Blu-Ray.
|
HelBic 15th Jul 2021 | | CD AlbumFreddie Mercury - Never Boring | Added 2 sided poster included in package. But.. just the one side as not keen on the other!
|
HelBic 5th Jul 2021 | | CD AlbumPhil Collins - The Singles | Hi @TheDroid, yes I was fairly new to adding triple albums at the time and didn't know how to add the 3rd CD - I have now corrected that!
|
HelBic 30th Jun 2021 | | CD AlbumBangles - Manic Monday | All scans of the 8 page fold out booklet added.
|
HelBic 29th Jun 2021 | | CD AlbumAnderson / Wakeman - The Living Tree | All scans added
|
HelBic 28th Jun 2021 | | CD AlbumEpica - Design Your Universe | Although I have scanned the 24 page booklet, the scans are not great as the booklet is attached to the Digipack making a flat image impossible - I've done my best so you at least get a feel.
|
HelBic 28th Jun 2021 | | CD AlbumQueen - Queen Forever | Sorry, I meant to add this in the notes section. This appears to be a South American release as it states it is specifically for Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.

HelBic 29th Mar 2021 | | CinemaWonder Woman 1984 (2020) | Good review, and I may now just watch it.
However, I have to say there's a YouTuber I follow whose reviews I always find not only vastly entertaining but informative and 'on point'. He tends to give his opinion and then pull apart the good and bad points of the film, including gaping plot holes if there are any (and he does point many out in this film which a London double decker bus could be driven through).
So, for an alternative view, have a look.

HelBic 19th Nov 2020 | | CD AlbumQueen - 40 Limited Edition Collector's Box Set 2 | ReviewI have bought this set as a big Queen fan. I already have all the albums on CD but wanted the completeness (if that's a word) of the 40 Anniversary edition and plan on getting the other 2 boxes in the set.
No surprises on the actual CDs themselves, I'm not an audiophile so can't really hear the difference in the digitally remastered versions from the original 'pressings'.
Even more interesting (to me) is that I bought the 40th Anniversary edition of 'News of the World' which has the same pressing of that album - so I guess that means I now have 3 CD versions of this album.
The Bonus CDs are where this scores for me as there are tracks and versions on there which I have never heard or have never previously been released including a couple of B sides from the original 45s.
So, if you're a Queen fan or just someone who wants to get the entire Queen library at cut down prices then at roughly 36 quid for 5 CDs (and don't forget that they have bonus EPs also) it's good value for money.

HelBic 8th Nov 2020 | | CD AlbumQueen - News Of The World 40th Anniversary Edition | I have finally scanned all that I am going to - the only things I haven't done are the contents of the book itself - not a chance of scanning all 60 pages of it! The Vinyl album is a duplicate of the original gatefold sleeve and I haven't scanned the inside of the gatefold as it's Identical to the posert I have labelled as "Poster / Inside of gatefold".

HelBic 12th Oct 2020 | | CinemaThor: Ragnarok (2017) | Odd isn't it?
I did enjoy this movie but also felt slightly let down by it. Why? Simply because as a kid, I bought every American superhero comic I could find. It was the early 60s and Marvel were really starting to take off and so I bought the very first Thor comic "Journey Into Mystery".
The Thor character in the comics was very straight laced and dis speak as thoug out of Shakespeare, so I enjoyed the Thor movies and characterisation very much.
This iteration see him transform almost into a 21st century character - for me the character arc and transition from Shakespearean hero into modern man was too quick.
Pity as it really was a good movie, mind you ther transition into lazy fat slob in the last Avengers movie was a step too far for me.

HelBic 12th Oct 2020 | | CinemaLéon (The Professional / Léon: The Professional) (1994) | Great review @MagicMarmalade, I have the original DVD of the movie and have never seen the director's cut - and will definitely give it a miss as the original was definitely a masterpiece.

HelBic 12th Oct 2020 | | BookEric Berne - Games People Play | I read this when I was a teenager - I spotted the review in my daily feed and recognised the cover.
Frankly, I remember nothing about it aprat from the cover and name!

HelBic 30th Sep 2020 | | CD AlbumJames Taylor - Covers | ReviewI bought this recently after I'd seen James singing Witchita Lineman as a tribute to Glen Campbell after his death.
James' guitar playing has maintained a high standard even into his (now) old age but like so many, his voice isn't what it used to be, which is a shame.
This however, is a review of the record, not the live performance which was probably a decade after releasing this album. James' voice is still good here, although his selection of tracks may be considered doubtful by some. I bought it primarily for the above named track as I wanted to hear him do it justice, which he does.
Not quite as good as the original, but then again few seldom are, James does add his own touch and makes the song his own. You can hear that he loves each and every track and he does the vast majority proud.
Overall a good addition to my collection and well worth the very low cost from Music Magpie.
One last comment though is that like so many other artists, his output in latter years has not been a patch on the early recordings, like Sweet Baby James or Mud Slide Slim.

HelBic 30th Sep 2020 | | CD AlbumWilson Phillips - Dedicated | ReviewI've always liked this band - very poppy but hey, that's not necessarily a bad thing. They have good harmonies and I think they do their parents proud. Having said that, they all have decent voices that blend together well, on record. Live, they're not quite as good but then again, this is a studio album, and has been well produced.
It's good to hear fresh takes on some old songs, their rendition of California Dreamin' and Monday Monday are very good but for me, God Only Knows is the outstanding track on the album with Good Vibrations being a brave choice as not only is it a cover of The Beach Boys' best known (and probably best loved) track, but it's also an A Capella cover to boot.
Well done, I'm glad I bought this and will give it many a listen.
