LaurenceD SUBS 23rd Sep 2023		Vinyl Album [no artist listed] - Peppermint Twist	Another twist LP by anonymous performers on a label I've never seen before. The first track is a pretty good copy of Joey Dee's version. The rest are kind of in the style of Chubby Checker.

LaurenceD SUBS 15th Sep 2023		78 RPM Steve Miller's Four Barons - Mixed Fruit / Rainy Weather Blues	I don't know anything about this Steve Miller, but: - Billboard reports that this group performed at the Powelton Cafe in Philadelphia in 1947 - Sammy Alexander and Ernie Ambrister were also members of the Five Barons, who recorded "Fine As Wine"
LaurenceD SUBS 13th Sep 2023		CD Album Benny Goodman - Music Hall Rag	I found five of these CDs in a thrift store, possibly from the set of ten mentioned in the notes. Each CD has its own barcode, so I am entering them individually. The "box set" was enclosed in a thin (kinda cheap-looking) case. As to that "state of the art digital mastering", I don't know where they obtained these recordings, but they are so heavily filtered that it sounds like you're listening to them on a portable radio. BTW the same Benny Goodman bio (in English and German) is repeated on each individual CD.

It appears to be an early boot, but so far I have not come across a description of an LP with only these 10 tracks. I presume that this came with some wrapper with a title and track listing.

LaurenceD SUBS 28th Aug 2023		Vinyl Album The Who - The First Complete Rock Opera	I have entered the tracks as listed on the back cover, as this corresponds to the order in which the songs were played (except that I added track B1 "Overture", which was omitted on the cover). The assignment of the sides on the discs (and the corresponding labels) are mostly mixed up; only side one matches the cover.

On the EMI discs such as this one, the tracks are designated by a number in a square (note the timings to the far right). The indices are designated by (IN:DEX) #, followed by timings indented to the left of the track timings. Most modern audio compact disc players do not display an index counter, and usage of the index feature was largely abandoned by the 1990s.
