James Brown With The Famous Flames - No, No, No, No / Hold My Baby's Hand
B-side is credited only as James Brown (with no 'Flames mentioned) in my label.
Also to see the full James Brown discography, shouldn't we link "James Brown AND The Famous Flames" under the same artist, too?

Various Artists - A Piece At A Time
A tribute to Gene Vincent. This is an excellent collection, also including some of the Steve Aynsley songs of which I heard the unreleased demos in the early 80's!
The real gem is of course the title song, an unreleased Gene Vincent track (2-17). Gave me shivers on the first listening (and it had been a while I last heard anything "new" by him)!

Gene Vincent And His Blue Caps - Be-Bop-A-Lula ( ビバップ・ア・ルーラ) / Woman Love ( ウーマン・ラブ)
Thanks, and yes, this is a great record indeed! Near mint condition, sounds hit like a sledgehammer! I have about 15 different pressings of Be-Bop-A-Lula, so soon I'll start a research on which ones sound the best!

Gene Vincent And His Blue Caps - Gene Vincent Rocks And The Blue Caps Roll
An interesting back cover variation! My faded/duplicate images (667083 & 667084, as well as 689705) may be deleted, as the newly uploaded ones by Gregs78s represent them better.
Also, to put the labels in chronological order:
1st = green, 2nd = red, 3rd = purple (and the 4th and last would be black with rainbow rim).

Jimmy Reed - I'm Gonna Ruin You / Pretty Thing
I have the record with these labels, with matrix #s =
55-230 and 55-231.
Still, the dead wax matrix #s are these =
55248 , 292 and 55249 , 292.
Were the leftover labels (partly) used for the re-release that had new matrix numbers?
And are these recordings different versions?

Sonny Burgess - Red Headed Woman / We Wanna Boogie
What a great record! I listened to my copy of this 78 today, and noticed that "We wanna boogie" previously posted here is an alternative version, slightly different. The original 78 has this one on it:

The Penguins - Hey Senorita / Earth Angel (Will You Be Mine)
Right, in this case there probably is no value difference between the different colours. Anyway, it seems like the red label is most common, but blue and maroon ones are seen often (checked popsike and eBay) as well. Love both sides.

This one is a really heavy vinyl, I thought there was a double record inside but it was just one! Whichever is the pressing, this is a (the?) top album!

Gene Vincent And The Blue Caps - Record Date
B2: composer and publisher credits were "Pending" in the promo release. Have been missing from all re-releases ever since, but the song is the same as performed by the Spaniels in 1956. Back then the composer credits were sold to Vee-Jay president James Bracken, originally the song was written by Pookie Hudson! (Tristan Music / Tollie (BMI)).
Source:Goldmine.

A beautiful tune indeed - both versions!

Lee Wrecker, yes there is an Aussie version of this album - dates from the barcode era. I have just linked that release with this one - and so far I haven't discovered other releases. A nice compilation album indeed!

Gene Vincent - Gene Vincent Story Vol.3
Label says:
Side 1 = Vol. III / Side 2 = Vol. IV .
So this is kind of a misprint, as Vol.4 is a different and separate release.

Gene Vincent - A Gene Vincent Record Date
The so far uploaded 2 sets of purplish labels here show the Sonopresse (2S) and Pathe (2C) distributed versions of 066-.
The French re-pressings of the Capitol albums (70's - 80's) had quite a few different variations: prefix 2C and 2S, labels of green, red, purple and black, following prefix 062- (1969), 064- and 066-, and different combinations of them. I have not completed the comprehensive investigation, but I still keep an eye on the lot and also buy whenever I find an inexpensive copy. So, there will be some more to appear on the database, too.

Aras Records - Company Sleeve
While still waiting for the news to be announced, a question arises:
would the company sleeve section have the sleeves with or without (or both and) the matching records inside? The labels are sometimes designed so nicely together with the sleeve that I feel tempted to include them as well (for both 45 and 78)...

Gene Vincent E Seus Blue Caps - Be-Bop-A-Lula / Jezebel
A side: Be-Bop-A-Lula from the film "Sabes O Que Quero" (= "The Girl Can't Help It"). My promotional copy label, which is apparently earlier than the other, does not mention the film (and also has font differences), could have been released before the movie got to Brazil.

Gene Vincent And His Blue Caps - The Bop That Just Won't Stop
The original release of this album bears the catalogue number ST 11287 (I've understood it is a mono release and not yet in the database, will be added soon?), the same as in the mentioned single. The LP here is a re-issue, actually abridged version (omitting Bop Street, Crazy Legs and Five Feet of Lovin').

Gene Vincent And His Blue Caps - Be-Bop-A-Lula / Woman Love
The very first pressings from both L.A. and Scranton plants came out with false time information (3:01 and 3:00) on the labels. Dead wax: 15230-D1 / 15231-D1.
Also, the first pressing labels state Dick Reynolds for co-composer of Woman Love, on the later ones there is only Jack Rhodes.

Link Davis - Sixteen Chicks / Grasshopper Rock
I checked the label and I'm sorry to disappoint you, me and all - no it is not pea green (it is the usual Starday yellow). The ultra yellow sticker or something fooled my camera and the labels look greener than they should. Will try to get a better photo to replace the present ones.

Yes, sure, I will upload the clearer images (with better camera) as soon as I get the record home from my friend. The blurry A side image here is of my copy, but I will upgrade it as well.
A fine source for Elvis' Japan 78's including some of these inserts can be found here.
