make1968 25th May 2021		78 RPM Gene Vincent And His Blue Caps - Bluejean Bop / Jump Back Honey Jump Back	I marked this as promo only, but actually this is a pressing mistake. Who Slapped John was planned for b-side, and for an unknown reason Jump Back Honey was there at first (before the mistake was corrected). Some copies of Jump Back with the stock label exist, too, but I have not seen any white label copies that would play Who Slapped John. Whereas Bluejean Bop plays correctly as written on the label, all versions.

After seeing your comment I had to check my copies, and... I have 1.) the white label test pressing: Bluejean Bop / Jump Back Honey Jump Back 2.) the stock label regular pressing: Bluejean Bop / Who Slapped John That's 2 different records! There should be an insert for this SP-6 release, too. I don't have it, still trying to find one.

The records were produced at the same time in both plants, as far as I know. ("Later variant" in the description is misleading information)

As Irish pressings followed the UK catalogue, it'd be surprising if there is no existing UK (first) pressing with both of them credited - I believe such image is yet to appear in the database.

(I hear a voice saying: no, don't start collecting the whole set of different tax codes. You have too many copies of this album already!) The turquoise labels were changed to black during XT tax code (as both colours exist with XT), somewhere in the middle of 1958 - I suppose... (does anyone know?)

Still so few pictures of them... we played live for years on a weekly basis, and I cannot remember many other venues than the ones we have pictures of. Early dementia? Hope that folks would find these pages and have no fear of adding their shots, I'd love to see - and remember - more! I am not certain about this picture either. Was this Molly's or some other stage in Helsinki night... Anyone recognise the venue?

make1968 25th Mar 2020		Vinyl Album Gene Vincent - Gene Vincent Story Vol.6 A Tribute To My Best Friend	That's what I was wondering, too. I have tried to put Sonopresse and Pathe pressings separately due to their different #. Basically, if we follow the guideline every record with different cat# should have its own entry, but label variants of the identical number under the same entry. This LP was distributed by either Pathe-Marconi (2C...) or Sonopresse (2S...), and possibly both of the distributors put out copies with labels of various colours (but so far I've seen only this purple 2S and the orange 2C that Recordarcheologist1 mentioned). I suppose Pathe orange (1974) was prior to Sonopresse purple (1978) but I may be wrong.

To my knowledge this was the only album released by Sun in Japan, in addition to a bunch of singles.
