Hallo, Fixbutte! Hier ist der erste von den Albumen, die in meiner Sammlung sind. Später kommt noch mehre!

This album was bought sometime last year(I think) at Rices in Newcastle. I paid $5 for it. Listening to the album, none of the tracks really "stood out" for me, but it wasn't too bad, as albums go.

It's also curious that EMI reverted to the Black-label Tamla/Motown after 5-6 years of the blue and white "fan" design(best word I could think of) with the US Motown logo. A backward step, ay?

Actually, RC, a bit over 1 year! My copy of "Urban Spaceman"(also a British Liberty label issue), carries a publishing date of 1968.

This LP predates "Urban Spaceman", but I thought there was a possibility of that track appearing on this album first, before being issued as a single.....alas my hope was dashed!

Might be a repackage, going by the discrepancy between the sleeve and label titles, and yes, Jaimeeduardo's idea of this being a bootleg... very likely indeed.

Hi, Gregs78s. I wasn't saying there was anything special about this rear cover. It was just a simple idle observation on my part, nothing more than that. But it didn't always hold that the rear artwork on an album issued in one market would be the same as another market's issue of the same album. To demonstrate that' I'll have to upload my Ventures "Telstar" LP, as well as this LP and a few others I've planned to put on this site.....boy, oh boy am I gonna be giving my scanner a thorough workout! Ouch! By the way, RC, You mustn't have this in your collection, then. You couldn't come up with the Aussie catalogue number. That begs the question...Was this LP even issued in Australia at all?

A7 performed by BDDDB in Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour film(night-club scene), later became the name of a group.

Fairly straight-forward, RC, just substitute on label and top-right British(and Euro) catalogue number for the Aussie number, change the blurb either side of the trademark at the bottom of the cover, leave the image and contents as is, hey-presto, an Aussie issue! By the way, RC, what WAS the Australian catalogue number? I ask as I only have the US issue.

If people appear confused by my comment, maybe I'll simply delete it.
And that has now been done. But I'll leave the explanation as it might make my comment a little clearer.

I think what I said is straight-forward. If you disregard the Top-right corner of the cover, the different serial numbers(catalogue numbers) and the Tamla-Motown trademark, bottom-centre, together with the blurb either side of it, and simply take the cover's colour, the photo of Diana in a dancing pose superimposed over her portrait, and the positioning of the contents list, these are the same as the US back cover. I think there's a US cover already hear as a linked release. Click on it(if it's there) and compare the two. You'll then see what I mean. Just looked - sorry, no linked issue. Looks like I'll have to add my US copy to the site.

Aah, Trainman, I get it now! We could probably call this one a schitzophrenic(guessing at spelling) label(two identities in one package), ha-ha!

Got B1 on a single! Once had an American "SSS International"(Shelby Singleton's label), but that got busted(....awww!), but was lucky to find an Australian issue on the Festival label a year or so back(...Yay!). Better B-side to that single is a song called "Lonely Room". Should note that "...Bamalama" was penned by Otis Redding, no less!

Actually, RC, it isn't so much as "K-Tel taking control" as Majestic asserting itself under its new trading name and identity. Through 1970 to 1973, the company was undergoing a transitioning, reinventing itself, as it were, from being Majestic Products Ltd. to K-Tel Products Ltd. It must be remembered the record albums were still just one component of this company, they were still, in the early70s, marketing all manner of "gadgetry"(the lint-removing clothes-brush, one that springs to mind) but the gadgetry side of the business was on the way out and they were concentrating more on the records side of things as the 1970s wore on. Later they got into video movies, issuing VHS tapes(and maybe Beta as well), but by the 1990s or so, it all came crashing down around the company's collective ears. K-Tel went belly-up! Or in the words of the dead parrot(Monty Python sketch), "pulled down the curtains and went to join the choir invisible"(I really wanted to use that line!).

When K-Tel issued this on cassette, the artwork for the cassette card was minus the title at the top of the cover photo, and the list of artists at the bottom. I know this as I have the cassette version.

I've seen that before, a Herb Alpert & TJB compilation on Summit where a track on one of the discs also turned up on the other disc in the same set - Oops! What Summit used to do was take an original stamper from one LP to make one side, another stamper from a second LP for the other side, to make up a new album, then repeat the process for a second disc in a set. They didn't do it all the time but, on the odd occasion....

Okay, RC. as this album is a full 13 numbers further on from that which you've cited, we can now safely say this is a 1987 issue, I'll make corrections accordingly.(keyboard gremlins... just deleted a 'u' from Okay! Sneaky little buggers, those keyboard gremlins!)

RC, best method of verification is to take a Dino LP which you know absolutely to be of 1987 vintage and check its catalogue number against this one.

I'll put the artwork up for this when I get a chance, RC, I have the LP. Unless, of course, you get in ahead of me! By the way, 1974 is correct though I can't confirm the month, maybe others might know.

Yes, and in the meantime we've got a bank-up of cars 3 or more miles back along the street blasting their horns and screaming "Get of the(expletive deleted) road, you long-haired gits!"

Emmy Lou Harris was doing a "blanket" version of A5("blanket" = "cover", get it!), but RC you have not yet revealed whether this reptilian label has, like its animal namesake, become extinct!

A trustworthy label, Dino Music. They strive to use authentic versions of songs(or instrumentals) in their compilations, none of those "rejected takes", "re-recordings" or "sound-alike fakes" in Dino LPs!

W.B. lbl, go to forums, "The Great Abbey Road Comments Thread Of 2015" and read the exchanges between Magic Marmalade, Record Collector, TopPopper and myself, if you can stay seated to read them and not find yourself rolling on the floor in hysteric laughter, that is!
