OldMod67 21st Jun 2021		Live Music John's Boys @ The Marquee Club [Soho]	This was the first of two 'secret' gigs rehearsing for the Setting Sons tour. The other was at the Nashville the following night. The second gig had the band listed in some ads as The Eton Rifles and some as La Confiture!

OldMod67 16th Jun 2021		Music Memorabilia [none] - No Mods & No Dinosaurs Badges	Loving the Mod Stinks badges! I recall a mate at school regularly leaning over to my desk with his 'I hate Mods' badge, printed on a torn target logo.... I had a check online as I did recall the dino badge from somewhere. It dates 1977-79 depending on source, to do with Mobil Oil company warning of energy use, 'stamp out dinosaur thinking'.
OldMod67 6th Jun 2021		Book Jim Marrs - Crossfire	I haven't put an image up for this one as unfortunately despite buying mine on publication, the construction was not particularly strong. Yes, although it's very well read, I'm not a destroyer of books; this one however ended up with me having to apply tape. If another catter has a copy for an image I'd really appreciate it. By the way, the film JFK was adapted from two books, this being one of them.

I thought it may have been a really early press. In that case my pix may need deleting. I am aware of various editions of this, as it proved popular outside the UK too. My copy is from 1983 (Adrian's Records, Essex)

Produced by The Hit Factory exclusively for John Menzies to play and promote. The cassette contains excerpts of the songs listed, along with a voiceover to attract customer attention to the tracks and it's the-in with Sounds of the 70s TV show.

Actually, this is probably as good example as any to support a second date drop down, which would pinpoint the edition, followed by the reprint date of that edition.

OldMod67 3rd Mar 2021		Book Various Authors - Bournemouth	I have just popped this, another of my old local books on. I discovered today that co-author Ian Andrews passed away on January 13th this year. I knew he had been very ill for some time, but being furloughed I'm out of the loop, so to speak. I met Ian at the end of the eighties in his role with Poole Historical Trust, whom I later ordered a lot of books from, starting back in the bookshop's Ottakar's days. Until he fell ill he always dropped off the stock personally, usually the following day. A mine of information, an important link in local history and local bookselling will no longer be there on my return in April.
