telegramsam 4th Jan 2019		Vinyl Album T. Rex - Gold	Nice to see this compilation did so well in the shops. I was disappointed that the labels were so dull and boring though. If Kate Bush can do it so well with her label then surely someone could have done something more pleasing with this release?

telegramsam 3rd Jan 2019		Vinyl Album T. Rex - Times They Are Strange	Nice sleeve and label design. Although I am a Bolan purist (as in only really going for the original releases up until Marc's untimely death) I am so pleased to see this level of care and attention being given to new issues. I didn't think the Rex archive would ever recover from what the Bramleys did to it back in the 80s, but this sure goes some way to redressing that abomination. Well done!
telegramsam 14th Jul 2018		Vinyl Album The Beatles - The Beatles [The White Album]	Just added my second copy of this masterpiece, UK number 0008735. All photos, poster & black inners correct and present. Cover slightly grubby in places but no tears. Lps in good nick too (stereo) and with first press matrix numbers. A bargain at GBP30 I thought. Probably worth a bit more than that. I've added it to the registry JPGR&B poster!
telegramsam 27th Jun 2017		Vinyl Album Fleetwood Mac - Tusk	Thinking back to when this was released I seem to recall this album as having been the first direct digital to vinyl recording ever made. I remember buying it and then wondering why it sounded just the same as all my other LPs.

telegramsam 7th Nov 2016		DVD Box Set Are You Being Served? - BBC 2 Entertain	Rated 10/10 This boxed set has been heavily edited from the original broadcast versions to remove some racial based gags. Weirdly, only some have been removed but not others. It seems it's OK to poke fun at English, Irish, Germans, Japanese etc but not at Arabs and Greeks (for example). Whilst it is fair to say that it's unlikely anything of this nature would be made in these enlightened times, the original programme was made in a different era and with pretentions and social quirks of the time. In any case, in comparison to other TV series of the era this one is mild and anyone who really takes offence at this needs to take a chill pill. Its gentle mocking humour is fairly all pervading. Crudities about sex, toilets, foreigners, relationships are all staples of British comedy and carried off with great aplomb in this programme. Masterly acting, direction and scripts from start to finish make this one of the best loved British TV sitcoms of all time. For those who wish to see the original unedited broadcast versions you'll have to seek out the US Region 1 DVD version, which has thankfully been left censor free. 7 people found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review?
telegramsam 20th Aug 2016		TV The Tube (1982 - 1987)	Users of this site should note that the IMDB page for this programme is so factually inaccurate as to render it useless. The definitive story has not yet been written, and maybe never will be. In the meantime at least IMDB could get its basic facts right.
