Where did the barcode come from for this entry? There is no sign of a barcode on any of the images. Also it is an Australian barcode that has been entered.

Funkadelic - Free Your Mind And Your Ass Will Follow
Hi Lee, I wouldn't mind betting that there could still be some of the original Ace UK pressings floating around in some Australian retailers shelves of stock ex Shock since they were distributing Ace catalogue material (but not very well).

As for Funkadelic this was their second album for Westbound. My favourites are their third and fourth albums, "Magot Brain" and "Cosmic Slop" which I imported from the USA since they were not released in Australia at the time. George Clinton is a great guitarist.

Finally got it all here after four attempts. The Doctor didn't seem to have control of The Tardis and kept drifting off into space.

A copy of this record in good condition was for sale by a stall holder at an Easter weekend antiques fair for $2.

Madonna - Erotica
WEA/Warner Music official CD releases in Australia from the late 80's into the mid 90's were manufactured overseas. Since the "same manufactured" item has been released in 2 plus continents tags it as "International". Australia is not a part of Europe.

Duke Ellington - In A Magenta Haze
When adding a cat #, like here, it really doesn't matter which one is added. When searching by cat # the "space" and "-" is ignored in the search, so if you entered "ALL 796" then it would display all cat #'s that have been entered as "ALL796", ALL-796" and "ALL 796".

When any cat #'s are entered with an alternate # using the "/" as a separator on the same line, for some reason it is only found if you enter your search in exactly the same way as it was entered.

I guarantee that nobody would even think of doing something like that for a search - including me.

At the time bootlegs were illegal but initially tolerated by the record companies. The wholesaler in Australia had a Victorian post box for orders whilst the warehouse was in the suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, from where stocks were shipped Australia wide to retailers that took the chance to have them available. Festival records were the biggest anti-bootleg company and refused to supply any retailer that stocked bootleg albums.
I visited the warehouse to get Rolling Stone items that I did not have and was lucky to get this as it was the only copy they had, and even more so as they were raided by the police a few days later and had the entire stocks confiscated and destroyed.

Image #987116 was from stock supplied by BMG. The reason that the disc only image was entered initially is some light fingers removed the jewel case with sleeve from display.

I did notice on my invoices that import material had a higher wholesale price and there were some retailers that hadn't picked it and were selling at standard RRP. Some Kitaro titles were released at normal price but I honestly can't remember. One needs the Platterlog sheets through the 80's.

The couple of CD titles I own released through WEA in July 1989 are manufactured in Germany: (Jenny Morris - Shiver and Transvision Vamp - Velveteen). At that stage WEA were using the shortened barcode digits as the local cat #. It wasn't until the 1990's that they adopted the longer international number to match the change to Warner Music.
