The Five Breezes - Sweet Louise / Minute And Hour Blues
My word! What a tune! Love this early uptempo Rhythm sound.

Track Side B: "Minute And Hour Blues".

Slightly clearer audio..

And the same song if you prefer it with the classic hiss of the record.

Various Artists - Goldband Rockabilly
Hmm.. that's a great question, ed. At that time in 1982, this label probably didn't know about Dolly's songs. Or didn't have any copies or any publishing rights before this came out.

Of course I'm just making guesses as to why they didn't include her on this one.

From what I've read so far, a lot of those songs were being republished or issued (some for the first time) through out the 80's, 90's and early 2000's, on several reissue labels (such as this one, ACE, Charly, and so on).

My guess is they probably didn't know. But I could be wrong..

Swing Cat's Jamboree (1938)
A recent (12-13-21) article on Shirley Lloyd was created and posted on The Vocal Group Harmony website, featuring her life with several of the performers and artists. Some audio links and many photos. Including a mention of Swing Cat's Jamboree.

(though it only goes up into the early middle 50's. I'm not sure if there will be a second edition, or if more info would be added at a later date).

Thought to pass that link article along for those who would like to read it.

Various Artists - Boppin' By The Bayou Feel So Good
A lot of valuable info and photos have been helpful in these series. Thank you.

On Larry Hart, while I certainly don't know anything about this artist.. I found one song on the UNC Southern Folklife online site which might be of interest to any fans out there.
It was in the Reel Tape section, labeled in under as Various Artists. He was only singing with guitar... and I haven't found any info on it so far, so it may have been one of countless unreleased takes. It sounds like a Demo.

Various Artists - Rhythm 'n' Bluesin' By The Bayou: Vocal Groups
Thank you Paul for including the booklet photos. And a very greatful shout out to Ace records, for taking the time and effort to find and re-issue these great old songs by all of these groups and artists!
(as well as the Southern Folklife staff over on the Wilson Library at UNC North Carolina university, when Eddie Shuler donated all of the past tapes/records to them back in 1995)..

Frankly put, if it wasn't for Ace (and the other reissue labels over the years). . . Most of these songs and the info on them would've most likely been forgotten and lost forever by now. Since some didn't have very big careers compared to other artists on the bigger major labels.

I haven't purchased any of these CD's yet, but will go out and buy these Various Artists edition volumes.
