A: Scandinavia (Sing Dose Song And Make Dose Music)

Blossom Seeley

B: Funeral Blues (Eat Custard And You'll Never Break A Tooth)
Co A-3382 - I have images with GJ codes in the range A-3381-3393; meaning unknown. Last BV code (i.e. the normal series) I have seen is A-3379, so maybe it was replaced here by GJ, followed by CP & BP. An EV/BP coupling is known for A-3421, but this almost looks like an error.

The Dorsey Brothers

A: Dixie Dawn

Ed Lang's Wonder Orchestra

B: I Must Have That Man
Od A-221110 - This is the German release of Parlophone R-280, which also has this Eddie Lang credit. Orig. issue of B is OK 41133, as by Joe Venuti And His New Yorkers. Rust wrongly lists the reverse of 41133 (Doin' Things) for A-221110 and omits this Odeon under Dixie Dawn (Dorsey Bros 22 May 1928, OK 41050).

Both sides are the usual GG house band suspects- Mosiello, Sannella, Magnante, etc.

The Home Towners

A: Coquette

The Tip Top Club

B: Down Where The Sun Goes Down
Duophone D-4019 - Label variant added, which uses a narrower font and has a different layout of the B title. I assume it is an earlier variant that was replaced by the better readable normal font. A-side image ID 1445196 is a less clear image of this label type, but possibly is dark purple instead of black. I think purple was the colour for the orig. issues at that time.

California Ramblers

A: Magnolia
B: Zula Wail
Broadway 1081 - A/B images of 2nd edition added; 1st & 3rd ed. are already present. Note misspelling Zula Wail for Zulu Wail on all editions. Recorded 27 May 1927, with vocal on side A by Ed Kirkeby as Ted Wallace. - The 3 editions couple 2 label variants, which differ in the mention of the vocal:
ed.1 - both sides state "Vocal Chorus Ted Wallace" (B-side incorrect),
ed.2 - wrong correction, now both sides omit the Vocal (A-side incorrect),
ed.3 - correctly only the A-side mentions the vocal.
Images should be rearranged, with Leedon's edition 3 as last.

DAHR is fine if they have the complete date. In a lot other cases they tend to round off into the next month. The John Bolig Bluebird and Victor discographies with the correct dates are available for downloads from mainspringpress.com. I have them all saved to my files, hence my edits.

Boone, Riggs, Cuthrell

A: Three Auctioneers

Kay Kyser - "Speed" Riggs

B: Musical Auctioneer
Speed Riggs was a tobacco auctioneer in the 1930’s, but was made famous after being discovered by the president of American Tobacco Company. His gavel drop “Sold American’’ was a tag line for Lucky Strike cigarettes, who sponsored Kay Kyser’s radio show. Aubrey”Speed” Riggs spent the better part of three decades as the voice of Lucky Strike on the Lucky Strike Hit Parade, and a frequent guest on the Kyser broadcasts.
In his heyday, Speed delivered about 470 words per minute. The Wayne County (North Carolina) Public Library has posted an acetate of Speed pre-Kyser in action on YouTube. The video states 1940, I’d put it a bit earlier. Amazing to listen to.

B: How Are You Tonight In Hawaii?
The B side, Hotel Pennsylvania Music, is Jack Albin’s band and has nothing to do with the Ed Kirkeby (Wally Edwards) A side. Could a moderator adjust the artist category, please?
Yes, I know there are some interchangeable elements in most of these studio house bands, but for identification purposes..
