There seems to be a duplicate record ?

Johnny Dodds Black Bottom Stompers - Weary Blues / New Orleans Stomp (1952)
Very interesting indeed.

However, at the risk of missing something obvious, I don't see the numbers in my photograph, quoted / shown on the page you linked. Why is that please Scrough ?

I noticed while playing this record that both sides have crossed out Matrix Numbers (I think they are called). Photograph up-loaded as 'above'.

Was this usual I wonder ? What does it mean ? Was there maybe an error which needed correcting ?

I can't find any reference to a Zimbola.

Is it a musical instrument ?

Can you provide a link to a photograph of one ?

Thank you very much xiphophilos.

Unsure of the correct spelling for side 'B' composer.

Ernie Mayne - Hello ! Old What's-A-Name / What D'yer Think Of That ? (1922)
Apparently, side 'B' 'can still be heard today, as it was later remade as Lonnie Donegan's song "My Old Man's a Dustman". '

[no artist listed] - Blue Bells Of Scotland / Laughing Policeman
1. Actually five and a half inches wide.

2. Side 'B' believed to be Charles Penrose singing. http://www.mgthomas.co.uk/Records/LabelPages/Mimosa.htm

3. Side 'B' seems (to me) to be a short, unique version of this song ?

King's Heralds - Softly And Tenderly / Through The Shadows
Moderators:

1. I can't remember how to add the second (B) side number: VP-A 010

2. I note that there is an Australian 78 - label name is 'Voice Of Prophecy' - so please check that this label is correct as 'Gospel Melodies'.

I believe that the may be some connect to the 'Seventh Day Adventist' Church.

Thank you as always.

Telecast Orchestra - Focus On Fashion / Romantic Mood (1961)
Although I have searched the internet and noticed several 'Chappell' records on this site which state:

'Unfilled Vinyl Keep In Bag'

I can't seem to find an explanation as to what this means.

Can anyone explain the meaning please I wonder ?

Aha ! Here is the answer:

http://www.aes-media.org/historical/html/recording.technology.history/speed45.html

A superior way of making the vinyl itself.

Why it must be kept in a bag though is a mystery.

Therefore please consider changing to 10".

This label image is taken through glass from an original Gramophone Company unused printed sheet of 12 labels. There is therefore no record attached.

The background is believed to have been printed by Harrison's of Hayes and the gold colours added in Hanover, Germany.

Why do you say that Vis Viva ?

I must admit that I thought these early records were made and exported to Britain from the USA.

As per this link:

http://www.mgthomas.co.uk/Records/LabelPages/Imperial.htm

So, I wonder, maybe you are correct ?

Moderators: Please check that I have entered the composer details correctly.

The label seems to indicate that there were two 'Tabet's' involved (A & G) but it seems that the symbol '&' should not be entered in the composer section, so I added another 'Tabet'.
