Everyone else, please excuse us!! I'm trying to answer questions AND learn something about these 100+ year old records in the process!! I learn more about records in 45worlds than ANYWHERE else on the web!! Thanks for understanding!! ♥ I laid a coupla regular record albums on top of this record to compare the size, and this 12", one-sided 78 RPM record is slightly larger than a regular 33 1/3rd RPM album.
edlongus SUBS ● 27th Mar 2023		78 RPM Celestin's Tuxedo Jazz Band - Oh Didn't He Ramble / High Society (1951)	You're welcome, xiphophilos!! I am impressed by the beauty of this record label!! One of the best 78 RPM record labels I've ever seen, dig that artwork!! I'm guessing the six musicians named are the six characters in the drawing?!? In scanning the Internet 4 information about this record, I see that this record was near the end of Oscar (Papa) Celestin's life. The Christmas Day, 1954 issue of Billboard Magazine has a brief obituary (under THE FINAL CURTAIN, top-center). It states that Mr. Celestin started a similar named band in 1911, so this group may have been around about 40 years at the time of this recording.

The label measures exactly 4", and in the dead wax over Nipper's head is stamped ˢˢ74158. I hope this helps?!? ☺
