McKinney's Cotton Pickers - Crying And Sighing / Nobody's Sweetheart (1929)
Vic V-38000 - image of the Victor dealer sleeve for this record added. It gives the date as Jan. 18, 1929, which I at first interpreted as the day to start selling, but was it the day to order extra records?. Can this be explained, considering the 4 Jan date mentioned as release date? The sleeve gives a short "review" of the music, and thus correctly mentions the "Vocal Refrain on Nonsense Words" for Nobody's Sweetheart. - On 2 other dealer sleeves, the dates are: V-38066 Joe Steele Aug. 10, 1929; V-38113 Morton March 21, 1930. On the Steele sleeve the number at left has been cut off, maybe for ordering. It has, below the cat.nr, an "order name" (I assume to avoid numerical errors) that is also on the review at upper right.

Rex Griffin - Everybody's Tryin' To Be My Baby / I'm Ready To Reform (1936)
De 5294 - Added are images of the 2nd edition. Mike Gann has added images of the original pressing, but the labels of 78-Ron's copy are type 1 for A and type 2 for B. The types differ in the font size of the license legend below the logo.

Chick Webb - Chick Webb Memorial Album (1940)
De Album 138 - The album exists with 3 Decca main label types. Added are: sides 1 & 2 (De 483) of the first type in 2 variants, as the first pressing had an error in the personnel (Renald Jones), which was corrected on the next printing (Bobby Stark); and sides 3 & 4 (De 1220) of the 1st pressing; and side 5 (De 1840-A) of the 2nd label type (see Patent notice below logo). The images of De 1220 that were already present have the 3rd label type. Side 11 (De 3320-A) is on discogs. Label types #2 & #3 of this album are rare; all images I have seen are in this entry.

Gladys Palmer - Get Behind Me Satan / Trees (1935)
De 7107 - labels added. Also a Decca ad for 3 records (7098, 7104, 7107), of which this one by Gladys Palmer is the most recent. From a biography of Gladys Palmer by Marv Goldberg (2023). Goldberg mentions 7107 as an October 1935 release, maybe based upon the advertisement date.

Bumble Bee Smith - The Death Of Leroy Carr (Dedicated To The Memory Of Leroy Carr) / Blues Blues (1935)
De 7098 - Images of the corrected version and a later block label pressing added (from Roger Misiewicz collection). Evidently "Smith" on the rare first printing was an error (I have not seen another copy, but the misspelling is mentioned in BGR), and the later labels say "Slim".

Willie Smith (The Lion) And His Cubs - Breeze (Blow My Baby Back To Me) / Sitting At The Table Opposite You (1935)
De 7086 - images of original labels added (A-side bad). Evidently the later pressing with the mx printed on the labels is more common. - Odd that Breeze, with a Clarence Williams vocal, is described as an Instrumental on both editions.

Whistling Bob Howe And Frankie Griggs - The Coldest Stuff In Town / The Hottest Stuff In Town (1935)
De 7085 - A very popular record. It exists with all 4 types of the sunburst label (all added), plus the first variant of the block label (already present). [should be reorganized.] Three variants of the sunburst label are well-known, but here the 2nd main type exists with 2 chronological variants: with or without take on label, and composers as on #1 or as on #3. The take was mentioned only for a short time. On the block labels the composers are in lower case and the description is in serifed font.

Memphis Minnie And Kansas Joe - Hole In The Wall / Give It To Me In My Hand (Can I Go Home With You) (1934)
De 7023 - The relatively common original issue has a "misprinted' credit. It was set as "Memphis Minnie / Kansas Joe" and then the word "and" was added after Minnie's name without repositioning this line, resulting in an asymmetrical layout, especially on the A side. On a later printing the error was corrected on the A-side (label image added), but this copy had an uncorrected B-side.

Bunk Johnson And His New Orleans Band - Tishomingo Blues / Alexander's Rag Time Band (1950)
Br(E) 04437 - images added of: 1) orig. issue, with A/B sides and CT tax code; 2) next printing, without side indications and with +IP code; 3) B-side with the next tax code, N. Recently added by redpunk was: 5) the last printing, with a new design and RT code (and which is uncommon for such a low cat.nr). - A different variant with N code (type 4) can be seen on discogs. It omits the pictural publishers logos (as seen on types 1-3), but has their names printed (as on type 5).

Frank Luther - That Big Rock-Candy Mountain / The Bowery Bums (1929)
Cq 7227 - There are at least 3 label variants of this issue. The orig. issue mentions Sears on label (images on discogs); the 2nd (added by xiphophilos) & 3rd editions omit Sears, and add 'Made in U.S.A.'. The A-side is from 28 Nov 1928, the B-side from 22 Nov (should be corrected in the Notes). The 2 recordings from 28 Nov were first issued on Banner 6251 with description 'Tenor Solo, Novelty Acc.' (also on the Regal issue, and probably all others). This description also occurs on variants #1 & 2 of Cq 7227-A. But on #3 it has been changed into 'Guitar Accompaniment' (for this title the only novelty effect is Carson Robison's whistling). The 3rd edition (both labels added) uses a smaller font for the title, and thus its B-side is also different from variant #2.
