Matthew Rose 12th Mar 2023		78 RPM Jesse Belvin - Funny / Pledging My Love (1958)	@Whyperion I have a copy of the Canadian pressing in probably close to E condition. RCA Victor pressed 78s in Canada until May of 1960, almost a year and a half later than in the US. My latest pressing Canadian RCA Victor 78s are “Delaware” by Perry Como and a French Canadian cover version of the Jim Reeves song “He’ll Have To Go” by Roger Miron.
Matthew Rose 28th Nov 2022		78 RPM Buddy Holly - I'm Gonna Love You Too / Listen To Me (1958)	This was likely the last Coral 78 issued in the US. Decca continued making 78s into August of 1958 and Brunswick until early 1959 however.

My mom kind or remembers seeing a 78 of it in an ancient Wurlitzer 1015 jukebox way back in 1960, though she was 3 years old back then and might have confused it with another Atlantic 78 by the Drifters.
Matthew Rose 29th Sep 2022		78 RPM The Drifters - I Know / Yodee Yakee (1957)	I only paid $2 for this 78 in great shape at the Fall 2022 Mechanical Music Extravaganza, so I guess I got a good deal. My friend Phil Kolber also got a copy for the same price and the same shape at the same show as me as well.
Matthew Rose 15th Aug 2022		78 RPM The Beatles - Hey Jude / Revolution	Had the introduction of the LP and 45 RPM record been delayed until 1957 or 1958 (the year stereo records were first introduced) for some reason, then this 78 would have been a reality and about as common as Elvis RCA 78s are today.
Matthew Rose 7th Aug 2022		78 RPM Pat Boone - Love Letters In The Sand / Bernardine (1957)	I would say that the only rare Pat Boone 78s are some of his later American pressings or his Canada only releases from 1959, though $10 or $15 seems to be where they max out at in terms of value.

I have 2 mint copies already, so I can possibly list it on eBay and get $10 or $15 for it.

Matthew Rose 13th Mar 2022		78 RPM Bill Haley And His Comets - Lean Jean / Don't Nobody Move (1958)	@ 23skidoo I am pretty sure this was Billy Haley’s last 78 in the US, as Decca stopped producing 78s in the US in August of 1958 with “The End” by Earl Grant likely being its last 78 release.

Matthew Rose 11th Dec 2021		78 RPM Václav Albrecht A Spol - Mr. Vokurka Opět Doma (Mr. Pickle Home Again) / Party Na Mr. Vokurka (A Party In Mr. Pickle's Home) (1927)	The “Mistr Vokurka” series of recording are some of my favorite Czech or Bohemian 78s. They are reminiscent of the “Uncle Josh” series of recordings made by Cal Stewart for labels such as Berliner, Victor, Columbia, Edison, and many others from 1897-1919.

They are reminiscent of the “Uncle Josh” series of recordings made by Cal Stewart for labels such as Berliner, Victor, Columbia, Edison, and many others from 1897-1919.

Matthew Rose 5th Oct 2021		78 RPM Wilbert Harrison - Kansas City / Listen, My Darling (1959)	I also noticed that both the 78 and 45 copies pressed by Fury have a noticeable background hum on them. Perhaps there was an issue with the original tape master recording of “Kansas City”?

It would be something if Quality made 78s into mid-1960, as that would have meant that “Image Of A Girl” by the Safaris could have been released on a 78.

Does your family have any of his early recordings or any documentation from his early recording career with Edison? John Mitthauer was one of the early recording stars for Edison back in 1889 and made a lot of recordings that year.
