Though not original soundtrack recordings, the songs are from the era of silent -to-talkie crossover.. "The Leatherneck" - from which side B is taken, is listed as a silent movie - but with a soundtrack (probably produced in both forms). {Sorted. Mod.}

Recorded June 1949 (CHARM info) - assumed issued that year, unless it can be proved otherwise. Recorded on the organ of a church in Gentofte, Greater Copenhagen.

I find myself wondering if a UK release existed for this - or for example, Columbia 25780 (seen on discogs with an image) - which has the very un-american title "I Shouted Bovril To The Bull" ) .

Scratchy45 19th Dec 2020		78 RPM London Military Band - La Mattchiche (1905)	While not wishing to butt in, there are some examples of early Columbia label design in the "labelography" here No exact match, but this suggests the label design predate Label05 as shown. Found a couple of French and one Brazilian reference to the release from archive sources. Borel-Clerc is actually a single hyphenated surname, not two names, and he was the arranger of a song by Mayol, said to have gained its inspiration from a Brazilian dance. There several alternative ways to spell the name of the dance...

My mistake while rushing it on this morning. "G Santojanni" publisher stamp on side 2. Can anyone tell me about the use of publisher or rights stamps before publisher symbols/trademarks were incorporated into the label print itself?

Recorded 10th April 1935, according to a search on CHARM. Maybe not infallible though - the same search brought up details of the 1928 recording with the wrong cat# (D1938 instead of D1638).
