The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS 8th Feb 2013 | | 78 RPMWoody Herman - Woodchoppers Ball / The Golden Wedding (1957) | From my research Festival didn't exist until 1952.
Woody Herman's first LP was "Sequence In Jazz" (Columbia 1949) and "Woodchoppers Ball" is listed as Decca 1955. This was a compilation of earlier recordings (40's) with Decca. There were about 24 tracks put down of which only 4 or 5 were released on 78's in the 40's.
Prior to LP's he had recorded a lot of his classics during the 30's thru 40's on 78's.

Ralph Eades and Edgar Pougnault played Spanish Guitars (acoustic).
Bessie Eades played a Lap Steel Guitar (electric) built by Ralph.
