Just now
The record is already here at 78rpm, where it belongs.

If this is a 78 RPM disc, shouldn't it belong at 45Worlds?

I think that this, and possibly those listed under BP Touring Service, might all be amalgamated under the plain old label BP.
This is probably from the 1950s given that it plays at 78rpm, but Moss made adverts on behalf of BP for years.

Whoops! Uncropped images added initially by an act of idiocy. Could a kindly mod remove them?

That would be a lightning fast issue.
Mod edit:- Changed to September

@cuje01,
If you add this to the 78s section of 45worlds, we can delete the entry from here (we can't transfer the entry across).

Guess I erred in listing it among 45's. Oops. Seems more like styrene than shellac.

Acc. to the RCA Custom code, it's a 6½" mono 78 rpm.

This record is slightly less than 7 inches in diameter (approx. 6.5).

walk2013 SUBS 11th Nov 2023 | | 78 RPMVic Damone - Nice To Know You Care / Sitting By The Window (1949) | The submitter supplied this BB page (Jan 14, 1950) as a hint to establish the date, which made it look like Jan 50. But the record was mentioned in the BB review in Dec 49. So that makes Dec 49 a more plausible issue date than Jan 50.

walk2013 SUBS 11th Nov 2023 | | 78 RPMFrank Sinatra - Lost In The Stars / The Old Master Painter (1949) | In the same article as here in the notes, it was reported that the Sinatra version also "broke" "and the panic was on".
Therefore the release date should be changed to November 1949.

walk2013 SUBS 5th Nov 2023 | | 78 RPMClaude Kirchner - Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs Part 1 / Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs Part 2 (1949) | Member ZackMcBuick wrote this comment (transferred from 45cat):
These were reported in the Aug. 27, 1949, p. 16, issue of Billboard as being "unbreakable, seven-inch, 78-r.p.m. plastic" issues.
They were, of course, eventually re-issued in 45 format, but that would have been into the 1950's.

walk2013 SUBS 24th Sep 2023 | | 78 RPMJimmy Atkins - You Can't Take It With You / Gone Fishin' (1950) | Unlikely that "Hook-Line And Sinkers" are a band. Rather the record wanted to add a pun to the "Gone Fishin'" title.

walk2013 SUBS 30th Jul 2023 | | 78 RPMRoy Ross - Where In The World / Bewitched (1950) | Is there a reason why the side with the Decca symbol is listed as the A-side? [Thanks, now fixed. The pressing plant symbol after the matrix number (here a star) does indeed mark the B side on all Decca releases. That said, Cash Box made the same error and listed "Bewitched" first. Mod.]

walk2013 SUBS 13th Jul 2023 | | 78 RPMNat "King" Cole And His Trio - Orange Colored Sky / Jam-Bo (1950) | Does anybody have an explanation why on the variant labels the composer is different for the A-side? Publisher Frank Loesser instead of DeLugg, Stein?

walk2013 SUBS 27th May 2023 | | 78 RPMBud Billings - Carson Robison (1930) | There is conflicting information:
We have 26 Sep 1930 as the issue date. The DAHR link in the notes shows Oct 1930, which we had also used awhile in the past. Which is correct?

Given the Photoshop bit - should an Admin move to ephemera just for us ?
From Whyperion:
I think there are two considerations here.
Should the Melody Cards 78s be move to 78world (which did not exist when most items were created ), following the likes of 'little golden' To some extent say 78 to someone and they tend to think of the 10in Disc - with perhaps the 12in and smaller Eclipse / Broadcast smaller diameter (8in?) ones if pushed on memory. The 7in 78 almost came in at about the same time (says he with assertation with no facts) as the 45 7in generally appeared. Aimed often at the 'Kiddie' Market which often used 78clockwork or battery mechanisms in 'toy' plastic boxes reproducers, they also had the advantage, at least until 33/45 single play decks came in during the 1970s, of all three/four speed decks being common in Europe/UK etc from the 1950s onwards , so they could be played on dad's record player too. I suspect actually few got over played or played at all. To me , being of the size, they all mentally fit better in 45cat rather than 78world.
Second point is the page of greeting from (the uploader) Col Wolfe is that from the date of purchase or a later photoshop virtual or printed image that is not really part of the purchaseable package?
From TheJudge:
Basically because we have a 78s section on Worlds for all 78s. There are - as with a lot of things in life - some minor exceptions, such as this one, where it wouldn't make much sense to keep it apart (although we have it in 78 worlds as well).
From chopper52:
Maybe I don't remember well all 45cat rules, so I'm just asking : if we accept 7"s playing at 33, why shouldn't we accept a 7" playing at 78 ?
From sunrocker:
Yes, plays at 78 rpm - I own a copy.
From TheJudge:
The disc in the first image says that it's a 78, so it should be moved.
From DeadWax:
Birthday Greetings to 45cat! How authentic it is?
From Charlie Chalk:
Does this belong on 45cat?
