| | NP and +IP are also purchase tax codes. Unfortunately, not all companies used the same letters to mark the different tax increases or decreases. The Decca Group, to which Brunswick then belonged, used some letters of their own, in particular CT (1946-1949) and +IP (1950-1953).
ST or a 33 1/3% tax rate was in force between 10 April 1946 and 12 November 1947.
+IP, was used by Decca/Brunswick from Jan. 1950-April 1953 to mark the 66 2/3 % tax rate then in force.
NP (or NT) was a 50% tax in force between 16 April 1953 and 27 October 1955.
The complete tax tables can be found at
http://www.78rpm.net.nz/mechcopy/mech7.htm
I assume that Redpunk's labels, without any tax code, represent the original release from July 1940. The first Purchase Tax was introduced in October 1940. |

| | That doesn't list 'NP', though. Is that a Purchase Tax code or something else? |

| | TT and NP are British purchase tax codes. The TT code was in force between April 1943 and April 1946.
Peter Rice has put together a convenient list of Purchase Tax codes at:

| | It's certainly made my weekend, zabadak.
It was actually the shop manager who saw me looking at them, and suggested £3.99 the lot. One was snapped in half, 3 or 4 have chunks missing, a few look playable (after a good clean), and I was well chuffed with my one sider from 1910. Some nice covers also.
Most now added, last 4 to do tomorrow. |

Bloody hell, that would have made my week! |

| | I took pity on a charity shop today, mainly because I couldn't find anything else to buy, and cleared out their knackered 78s, about 40 of 'em. Heavy bag for £4!
Half of them already here, like this, for which I've added a label variation, the rest will be added in the next day or so. Then they have an uncertain future. |
