Thank you, @DeweyGill. Decoding these pseudonyms isn't always easy and the published references aren't always reliable.

Over the last 40 years, I’ve slowly created a cross reference for these department store labels from the 20’s and all the pseudonyms. It isn’t complete by any means, it is just a self serving list for items I own from this period encompassing several thousand titles. PM me if anyone is stuck on one of these, I may be able to help.

Imperial D.O. In this case IS Adrian Schubert’s Orchestra. Recorded June 17, 1930. Also on Banner 0737. Sounds like Scrappy Lambert to me

Cameo 0347 - Labels of original issue added - stating "Reg. in U.S.A. Pat. Office". The later pressing, already present, has a different legend at the label bottom.

Rust's Jazz Record 6th ED. shows an A-side recording date of June 23, 1930. When you finally locate side B under Adrian Schubert's name in the American Dance Band Discography, you find that Rust assigns it a recording date of June 17, 1930. Assuming those entries are correct, the assigned release date needs to be pushed back to at least 1930.

It is fairly certain that the Imperial Dance Orchestra and Ralph Haines are pseudonyms. Rust states categorically in the ADBD that all appearances of the Imperial Dance Orchestra on Banner 0500 series discs (one of which is this disc's twin) are by Adrian Schubert. He identifies Ralph Haines as Harold "Scrappy" Lambert.

Allan Sutton (Pseudonyms on American Records 1892-1942) considers the identity of both the Imperial Dance Orchestra and Ralph Haines to be a matter of conjecture. None of the Banner 0500s and no Cameos at all are included in the long list of discs for which he believes the identity of the Imperial Dance Orchestra has been established. Adrian Schubert is one of many candidates offered as possible identities of the Imperial Dance Orchestra on the remaining discs. Scrappy Lambert is one of the two main candidates to be Ralph Haines, the other being William Robyn, but here also Sutton states they are "among others". His final opinion: "Further research is needed."

[Changed the date and updated the notes, thanks! Mod.]
