As the original US issue on Decca 27077 came out in June or July 1950 (BB July 1, 1950, p. 32: DJs Pick & Operators Pick), the year 1950 is a safe bet for the UK single. At the end of 1950, "Goodnight Irene" was on #3, listed in the 13th week on England's Top Twenty, apparently a sheet music chart (BB Dec 30, 1950, p. 30). This goes perfectly with the already existing release date of Sep 1950 for Brunswick 04553.
