xiphophilos 26th Jan 2020		This is probably not a 1908 release even though it was recorded in 1908. On Discogs, I've read that the Schallplatte „Grammophon“ label was only introduced in 1914.

xiphophilos 17th Nov 2019		With these German releases, what is called the Bestell-Nr. (order number) is, in fact, what we would call the catalog number. Paradoxically, the Katalog-Nr. is something different, namely a number that The Gramophone Co. assigned specifically to each side. This can best be seen on two-sided releases such as this one, where there are two Katalog-Nrs., but only one Bestell-Nr.: https://www.45worlds.com/78rpm/record/13874 As you can see from my supplementary notes above, the Katalog-Nr. is not identical with the original Victor matrix number for this track.
